Tournament

Hi.
I began playing poker a year ago. In the beginning i really didnt know what I was doing, and played with the wrong people. For these reasons, i lost 150 dollars in the span of a few months. This year I started getting much better with my strategies, and got my losses down to about seventy. However i went on a rapid losing streak and am back to about 158. I know i'm good enough to do well, but I sometimes dont "have the balls." I usually am up early in the game and end up breaking even or losing by the end of the night. It must be a mental thing- any advice?

Also, tomorrow i am playing in my first every 10 dollar buy-in tournament. I think i will do well in the tournament, but i'm worried about the rising of the blinds(which will be raised every half hour). There will be about 12-15 people playing? Any advice on this one?

Thanks,
An Insightful Poker Player

Wow, I think if you don't worry about nuthin, you'll do good,,,
wierd eh? I started out on a roll. Every game I played I would
at least double my entry, Luck and good cards.. Then the losing
streak started. I got real down about it, and started every game
wondering how much I would lose this time. Blah, that sucked.
Don't worry about the blinds, don't worry if you throw away a
good hand,, we all do it. Just play solid, and use your instincts.
Poker is a game to see how good you lie,, I'd read a book on
how to spot a liar before I read any poker book.

I'm tellin ya though, if you go in all stressed out, and worried about
blinds, and wanting to keep every longshot draw, you wont have
any fun. As simple as it is, just go and have fun, relax,, because
you think better when you're relaxed. good luck
