Not exactly a bad beat, since I wasn't ahead pre-flop, but this one literally shocked me.
2-4 at the Showboat.
I'm in BB with Q5s. Check the blind flop comes
Qc5h8h
EP bets two callers, I raise, raiser folds, and SB folds leaving just myself and the cutoff. Turn
Qh.
I'm just plain giddy that the flush came. Cutoff bets, I raise, he re-raises, I 3 bet, he puts in a forth, I put in the fifth and he finally calls. River
9d
I have about 40 bucks left in front of me and manage to get it all in, and I highly expect to see A high flush from my opponent, he flips Qd9c, for a bigger boat on the river.
I actually managed to keep my cool, and the rest of the table seemingly felt my pain.
I left the table, and my friend continued to play, told me the guy played every single hand, and when we left (about 3 hours later), the guy was still up, although I'm not sure how much.
I never complain about beats, but that was one of my worst by far, simply because I was so blindsided by his play.
