AQo anyone?

Live 6-man Rebuy Tourney. NL. Top two get paid. 4 left. Re-buy period is over. Starting chips 500.

Blinds about 50/100.

Hero has about 1500.SB.
Station has about 3000.Button.
LAG has about 1500. UTG
Villain 3 has about 2000. BB.

Station does not raise preflop never. He does know a good hand from a bad hand etc. but simply doesn't raise them, he probably won't call with junk preflop. After the flop he plays pretty straightforward.

Lag is a madman. A raise from him means 'Look, I have two cards!'

Villain 3 is a good player.

Hero is dealt: A Spade Q Heart

LAG raises to 400, Station Calls, Hero...?

Personally, I would call and see the flop. You never know what either player would do when faced with a reraise. You might be forced to make a tough decision without even seeing the flop.

Calling a seeing a flop leaves you with about 900 chips in a pot that is going to be at least 1200. I re-raise all-in. LAG could have any two, calling station could have a wide range of hands. Push it in and take the pot down pre-flop, if not you might get called and still be ahead of your fair-share of hands.

I think calling is the worst move here, because it leaves the pot bigger than your stack. I'd say your only moves are either to fold, or to move all-in. Between the two, I'd pick all-in, because LAG could have a wide variety of hands, and the station is probably just along for the ride. Time to use the old squeeze play and force a real decision. Villain 3 will probably lay down anything but a premium hand, since the action has been raise-call-reraise in front of him.

Like Diamond I’d say push or fold are you’re best options and again I’d say to go with the push.

Motivations:

The stacks don’t suggest you can wait your way into 3rd.
Four hands AQo isn’t bad.
Squeeze (already mentioned).
There’s a lot of money already in the pot to help your odds. If you pick it up great, if you get a caller you’re probably not that far behind, you might even be ahead.

All-in baby. 3rd place isn't good enough to get crap so go for the win.
Like everyone else said if you flat call that then your left with just a few chips and would have to wait till you see some good cards to play. So my thinking here is all-in and if you bomb out fire up another.

4 people left? AQ is a all in hand. I'd hope that the maniac calls me and I double up. You late in the tourny and you have to go for the win. A besides, in 4 handed poker, AQo is a great hand.

Well, AQo looked like a monster so I pushed my chips in. Unfortunately they both called and I was up against 99 from laggy and AKs from mr 'raise preflop? NEVAH!' . Flop brings a K and that's all she wrote. Smile

Good thing to hear people favour a push though, this entire hand has nagged me a little.

You do realize you have 1000 posts now right?

I hate playing with uber passive calling stations sometimes
