Q 9 , villian has raised 2 of last 5 pots to 130, blinds 15/30. 1st hand he showed down QQ after checking the flop, turn and river w/ an Ace on the flop and 2 callers w/ smaller pocket pairs. The other he had AA and took out a player.
So, he opens for 130 again UTG and the hero is in the BB, one caller, SB calls, hero calls.
Flop 10 9 8
SB checks, hero bets 100 toward 500 pot, villian goes all in for 1800 (all covered). Hero has 900 remaining. All others fold.
Call? Fold?

Fold. I don't like calling off all of my stack on SPWK. There are better places to try and double up.

I'm folding here and waiting for a better spot. You can get away from this hand without losing too much money since your probe bet was small enough. I am getting the feeling like he has an overpair or caught the 10 and doesn't want to give anyone odds with flush/straight draws.

I'm guessing this is something like a $33 SnG, so this player is probably far from a standard donk, if he is a donk in any way.
In that case, I really dislike thejavascript:emoticon(' ') preflop call because a hand like Q9s is too likely to make a 2nd best hand. I like calling here with something like J10s, a lower suited connector (maybe) or 55 - TT (maybe). He seems to have stuff preflop, so give him the benefit of the doubt.
I know, I'm a tighty whitey.
Now that we're given the flop, I fold this hand without even thinking about it. If you had the diamond draw (i.e. board is 10 9x 8 ), then it makes this an easy call.
If he has a 10 you're dominated, if he has a jack w/ a diamond draw you're losing by a bit.
The only situation where you're ahead is if he has a naked jack or a jack 8, but neither of those seems terribly likely.

well, I was the villian here. I just came off big wins w/ QQ AA and thought I could use some table cred and steal some chips. I had 10 9 suited and flopped top 2. W/ 2 draws out there and 3 times starting amount of chips, I pushed here-expecting a fold.
He called, J came, I lose, he sucks.

I'm getting a pattern here ... you seem to do this a lot Dave.
Next post I'm posting the opposite of my opinion to see the reaction I get from you.
