Am i definitely behind here , I mean if he has overpair hed re raise more on the flop, if he has JJJ or 999 no way is he pushing it all in on the turn.If he has TT,88,77 maybe hed look for a cheap showdown once i call the flop. I know this is not a textbook play by me calling out of position with 5 hi, wasnt given nice odds but taht isnt the direction of this post.
Even if he had AJ or KJ why would he min riase, hes given me odds to draw, the reason i only called and not folded or pushed on the flop was - one its the minimum and I wanted to see no flush card on the turn. Unfortunately my time bank ran out earlier when igot disconnected but i may have made the call here. I dont want to push on flop cos i think he could have AsQs or something and im behind on that flop if he flushing and 2 overs.
Anyones thoughts , or am i crazy thinking I quite possibly had the better hand lol.

I don't see any reason to think you are ahead.

It isn't definite that you're behind, but I like a fold much more than a call in this spot.
Playing small suited connectors, I'm usually looking to make 2-pair or better before I start making any calls. If my top card makes bottom pair and there's paint on the board, I like to play it as if I made nothing. It's a very tenuous position to be in. Betting out or even raising to take down the pot is okay in this situation, but I probably wouldn't call even if I was 90% certain my opponent was bluffing.
PF
Raise, call
FLOP (flush and straight draws possible)
Bet, Min-raise, call
TURN (opens wheel draw)
Check, Push, fold
That formula looks like a pretty complicated bluff, but it's possible he held TPTK and just didn't like your flop call plus all the incomplete draws on the board.
I wouldn't let this type of hand bother me if I were you. You played a marginal hand out of position and it didn't quite work out. No biggie.

I don't think you are ahead. I at least would never make the call to find out.

Sure Itd be pretty expensive for me to find out if bottom pair is good. But I not sure about the min raise on the flop....It could easily be done with flush draw i seen it many times.
And i wouldnt make a habit of calling, re raising me on the flop just gives him the lead later on thats why i would do it. He could do it with any number of hands taht i beat just to get me thinking, then if i go over top he folds perhaps, the fact taht its minimum makes you wonder though, but yeah had to fold i guess.
Look stupid aswell if hes got AJ or something.

I have no problem with looking stupid. Just talk to my wife.
Take his chips later and prove your not stupid.

Good stuff and I agree 100%.
I would also add that it isn't a disaster to fold the best hand in NL, like say you have 33 and your opponent has 22, the flop is AKQ and your opponent bets....
Looking at your hand, if we only take the flop into account, you may very well be ahead, he could easily have missed and the turn didn't help either.
But there is a pretty big pile of hands he could have played the same way.
