Your small flop bet could have looked like a steal to him, so you may have the best hand. The pot is now 8800 and it costs you 6500 to call. You're not getting the right pot odds to call and your stack is more than big enough to lay down what could be the best hand. I'd lean towards folding, he's probably protecting a strong hand against the draw heavy board.

No read on the player, I might take a big risk here and call.
1) your hand might be good. He could be running a big semibluff with like QT.
2) you have 12 outs to a probable winner (flush or straight). You might have as many as 5 more outs on top of that if a third king or a jack makes you a winner as well.
3)If he had a straight or a set, he doesn't really want your chips with that big overbet, not saying it isn't a possibility, but most players would make a pot size bet or a big c/r.
4)I think one hand he may flip over if you call is AA, which you have 17 outs against. But, he could flip over KT, QT, Q9, any of which you have a decent shot at. He might also run a crazy bluff with just a gutshot or something.
I think I am less scared of this overbet than a pot size bet on the turn.

If you call and lose, will you still have an above-average stack? If yes, then I probably call. If its below average, I probably fold.

Yes I would definitely have above average, average stack was around 12,000 at this point.

Then I guess I call, flip, and pray for a heart. Bad poker? Maybe. But damnit thats my answer.

How tricky is he?

While either JT or KQ are likely hands, he might very well have As, Ks, or Qs, all of which have you beat. I find this to be an easy fold. If he's stealing this small pot, so be it. Your odds aren't even close enough to think about the call, especially when you're not even drawing to the nuts.

he IS drawing the nuts first of all (10h gives him straight flush), plus he obviously has a straight draw AND a flush draw. it is a tricky call, but seeing as you started the hand with 33k means u make the call. top pair, extremely good drawing hand, plus that stack, means u are pot committed in my book.

WUT HAPPENNED??

Well, his looking at less than 2-1 (just rough math in my head), and with a stack many times the pot size, I don't think he is pot committed. +EV move? Maybe. But I wouldn't call it pot committed.

Sorry - this one out to the nuts makes it 2% less likely that I'll fold ... I still fold.

I see this move alot playing in the micro tournaments. A player with 2nd pair good kicker will make a pair with their kicker giving them 2 pr. and they push with it. Why? Because they know they have TPTK beat.

Not saying you played this hand wrong because I probably would have called too.
