Posted Wed Feb 08, 2006 4:50 pm GMT by waker2002
i am starting some very large poker tournaments and am currently looking for about 50,000 11.5 gram chips. I have been looking on ebay for a while and the best i have found is 1000 chips for $15. I was hoping someone might know a way i could get this amount of chips for about $600. if anyone could help i would be very thankful.
Thank you very much.

Jack Binion? Is that you?

You might want to check out Chiptalk. They have wholesalers and dealers all over that site that might be able to provide better information, or even give you pricing to buy from them.

Hahahah Smile

You can get 1000 at 1.5c a chip. So you want a 20% discount (1.2c a chip) for buying 50,0000. I guess it seems doable.

I think that is a beautiful thing you are doing. That said, that many people in a dice-chip tourney? Aren't you worried about folks smuggling them in? I wish you luck in finding cheap chips but you might want to think a little bit about security.

With a reasonable chip distribution, you should be able to accommodate around 20-30 players per 1,000 chips. So does 50,000 chips mean you are expecting a field of 1,000 to 1,500 players? Most commercial poker room tournaments don't run this big. What kind of event are you going to be hosting, anyway?

And with that many players and chips, chip security is going to be an issue if you use some commonly available cheap chip.
