I don't see any way you can't be beat here. He called your re-raise before the flop and he took the opening bet on a scary board. Fold, and try not to get into the habit of re-raising with AJo when the blinds are so low.

Well, you're beating JJ and TT.

I don't see them betting in a preflop re-raiser here though, unless your opponent is a moron. Well, he probably isn't really paying attention is my guess, or he should be scared shitless by that flop unless he slowplayed something nasty.

I say fold.

Depends on how much metagame thinking you think he is capable of. Some players could dump two pair on that flop, but most wouldn't.

Quoted for truth.

You're up against a pair of eights, a guy with AK, and a guy with AQ

Or worse.

Hell - I'll take it one step further (given you've already said the raiser is playing tight) ... get in the habit of NOT calling AJo in MP to an early opener.

Yeah, I raised because I was on the button. But I can see why it was a dumb move.

I folded after his flop bet, BTW. I'm glad you guys reaffirmed by play.

Offtopic: Is your screen name a reference to the fantasy book series where the main character is belgarion? I can't remember the name of the author but it is one of my favorite series of books.

You're most likely referencing David Eddings' Belgariad. His name appears to be a composite of Kal Torak and Belgarion.

Thats it! Thanks for reminding me. Great great series. Both of them actually. (Two separate series of five books each.)

Yeah, actually, that's it exactly. Glad you got it. Not many people recognize it. Smile
