It's a tough day to lag it up

No hand history for this one guys. So you'll have to live with a manual version. Smile

Low stakes online 6-max

Hero is on the button with A Spade A Heart (weeeh!)

UTG is TAG and the one player on the table I respect.

Hero is lagging it up, and is the topic off the day in the table chat.

Hero is about 350BBs
UTG is about 200~

UTG limps, folds, hero raises 5x,folds,UTG raises for 10 more 17.5 total, Hero raises for 30 more 47.5 total, UTG calls. 77.5 total.

(Pot sizes are by memory, so may be slightly off)

Flop: K Spade Q Heart 9 Diamond

UTG shoves his chips in.

Hero....?

Also when reviewing the hand, I think I could have pushed preflop. Thoughts on that?

Yes, you could have pushed preflop but he would have called. I think your in trouble. If I read correctly, he pushed for 150 more right? wow. And your standing on 300. ugh ugh ugh.

I think I would.....

fold. I would have to guess he has a set of kings or queens.

Of course, he could have aces too... but do you want to bank on that?

I'd have to say you're behind.

Unless he is getting hyper-aggresive w/ AK, what hand would he limp/re-raise with that you are beating?

I'd fold here. Too much of a chance he has a set IMO.

I hate that flop Sad

I probably would have shoved preflop when he reraised. Though if he does have KK he very well may have called and you'd lose anyway. Oh well, at least you would have been ahead when you shoved. At this point, I might call the all-in and pray that he has AK and frown when he flips over KK.

Well, the hand ended in a pretty boring manner for you all. I folded and he didn't show. So we'll never know.

Just interested in the opinions of others here.

When he limp-reraised I think I made a mistake in not pushing. That move screams strength and I think he would have called flat with KK or QQ. It might not have changed the results, but it could have gotten my chips in as an 80% favourite.
