Ok guys. Remember that $140 I won in the freeroll 2 weeks ago? Well I have been on a tear lately and parlayed into into over $1000.
Now before I do something stupid and piss it all away, I was wondering if anyone had some good leads on WSOP satellites with resonable "buy-in's".
I don't really want a satellite of a satellite of a satellite because I don't think my luck is that good. But I would at least look at a satellite to a qualifier. Anyone know some deals?

You have two options really - hit a small site that only pays one or two seats per super-sat or hit a big site and risk a bigger field to try and get one of say 12 seats per satellite. It's a coin flip really so I've not helped at all

LOL! I think I saw in one of the other threads where you say Poker Stars sends a lot of people there? How are the satellites there?

How about a live qualifier? There is a thread in the Casino section about one in MN that is 200+20 to enter- top 20 of 100 for each of 5 days qualify for final day, top 10 of those 100 go to WSOP. The thread is 'Bave B and Jonny Boy' - I am sure there would be something similar in your area.
Other option would be to play single table satalite- usually 1000 + 100 to play, winner goes to main event
Online there are events for WSOP on all the sites, PP, Stars, and UB probably have the most

Pokerstars wsop sats have still not started! typically tho they send about 1/5 of the entire field (something like 1200 ppl in '05) their main sats will probably be $33 rebuys (usually sending a couple from each tourney thru $180 double shootouts (1 from each) to $600(ish) weekly super sats which will typically send 10-20 from each tourney. These usually have smaller qualifiers thru the week.
Recently i played a couple of supers at Pacific. $120 buy in with about 150 ppl, paying 1 seat and $5000(ish) for 2nd. I reached the latter stages in both (final 2 tables) but failed to advance. The play early was terrible from all concerned and i was able to progress fairly easily thru tight aggressive play.
UB and Paradise both have higher buy in weekly sats. $300 and $500 i think, but i haven't tried those.
I personally think i'm gonna wait and try and go thru the stars sats. but that's just me, it's my home and i feel comfy there.

To all those going for the WSOP seats either online or live sats. my hats off to you and the very best of luck. I would love to see everyone who tries make it.
We should see about getting THP t-shirts in case some players from here make it and wind up on TV.

We've still not had an online qualifier from this forum at the WSOP so I'm hoping someone gets a seat this year.
Like Webby has said, PS have $650 direct sats to which you can qualify thru sub-sats but they also run a QUADRUPLE shootout with the top 2 qualifying. Obviously, winning 4 tables in a row is very, very hard but this might appeal to some people?

Full Tilt just sent out an email last night about a whole bunch of satellites they will be running over the next few months.
This part I found interesting... If you win your seat through them & you win the WSOP, they will give you $10 Million!!
Thought that was pretty cool. The main prize is estimated to be about $10M this year, so that would be a cool $20M payday.
I'm guessing you can read about their satellites on the Promotions part of their site.

This was what I was talking about in the other post. You really can't beat this... seriously... if you have a better argument / reason for playing at another site, then please post it here.

The Full Tilt offer is very enticing. I know they want to breed a champion for that site, because so far, PokerStars has cornered the market the last 3 years. I think that's been a huge break for them.
I also like the Fossilman route... $160 Double Shoot-Out. That way you really only have to beat 16 guys.
But I guess now all I have to do is win a seat on Full Tilt and then win the Main Event... should be a piece of cake.

I think this is what you call a "huge overlay"....
Double the top prize? That's just sick.

Geno, can we get anyone who wins a seat a THP shirt or hat with their screen name on it? That would be cool to see on TV.

I still say we get 100 people from here to put up $100 each and send a player through.

And split the winnings 100 ways??? (If any?) If that is the case I'll sign up for $100 and I nominate Dave B to go in our behalf...

Or run our own Sat.

I meant run out own satalite too. But if you just want to send me, that is OK too.

I'd be well up for that! let's make it $120 tho so i can get my airfare out of this too

Admins? Thoughts of this instead of a freeroll? Take the normal 1 or 2K and put it towards a WSOP Sat. I'm sure we could have 100 players here with enough notice.

I bet we'd get about 20 players if the buy-in was $100. What we don't want is a bunch of randoms, we want one of US to get thru, not some guy with one post asking for the password for the tourney :x
Posted Thu Feb 16, 2006 3:18 am GMT by Skribbles
There has got to be more than 20 people kickin around on here that have an extra $100 in their bankroll or could scrounge it up with a few months notice.

All sounds good in theory, but can all of you definitely take the time off to play the big one, even if you got in? The main event is two weeks long.
Posted Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:43 pm GMT by Soup_dog
I would make time. Even if I had to take it without pay.
Posted Thu Feb 16, 2006 4:13 pm GMT by Phil14312
I guess they probably shouldn't enter the tourney if they can't make it. Besides, are we all on the same page here, Geno was talking about 20 entrants with 100 entry, thats only 2,000. Thats definately not the main event. It would have to be a lot more people or a lot more money.

I was wondering about that.

Why would it have to be the main event at the WSOP? Why not a lesser buy in event that could pay someone enough to buy into the main? Say you win $2000 and there is a buy in event for $1500 and if you finish good then you have the buy in for the main.
I agree with Sal. Those entering would have to be the people who knew they could take the time off from work, school and personal life in order to play.
I for one know I couldn't take the time off but I might still be tempted to play. My thinking is if I won I could use the prize to stake someone else who could go.

actually, UB is running $1050 sats to the main event. They also have events to win the $1050 seat ($100 I believe) I think that I may play some of those. I like my odds at 1 in 10
Of course, the PS double shootouts are always fun.
I would certainly be interested in a TH-P sat if you guys get one going
