NL ring game statistics

Ok, for the first time ever, I have been having a lot of success at ring tables. I have been doing a lot of reading and thinking in trying to improve, so I hope this isn't a fluke.

I think the problem with my game was not being aggressive enough (not raising often enough or high enough). I have learned to not to be afraid of losing my "buy-in" and playing strong hands hard.

Anyway, even though it's only 3k hands, I was hoping some of the "experts" can take a look at these numbers and tell me what they think.

By the way, these numbers are all for short handed tables. They allow me to play a wider range of hands.

VP$IP = 45%
PFR = 14%
went to showdown = 23%
Showdown win = 45%
WR/HR = 11.8
WR/100 = 14.8

Attempt to steal blinds = 22%

Those numbers are freakin high! Of course I play full ring NL so my input may not be too helpful.

VP$IP = Looks very high even for 6 handed.
PFR = Loose cannon
Went to SD = Looks about right
Showdown win = A lil low. Should have between 55-60

And what really counts....

WR/HR = Great
WR/100 = Great

Yeah, I've been reading some guides on the internet since I posted and they do look a bit high. In fact I would be labeled "a maniac" by pokertrackers autorate rules. But like you said, all of those guides talk about ten player games and I'm usually playing a 5 handed game.

Interesting. I'll have to see how this plays out.

Edit: Oooooo. I like this quote though.

"Loose-aggressive players are by far the most difficult opponent to play against. Since they will bet and raise with a large number of hands, raises don't give us much information about the strength of their hand. In addition, loose-aggressive players will often call with monster hands and like to make "tricky" plays. Thus, it's difficult to use the betting actions of a loose-aggressive opponent to put them on a hand. We recommend calling this type of player down with marginal hand and only re-raising when we are quite sure we are far ahead."

(Sounds like a limit game strategy.)

even at five-handed all theory I've ever read says 45% is way too high.

Get it down to a 35% and you'll see improvments, I bet. =)

P.S. Savour your win-rate while you can. It won't last.

I'm thinking the same thing. I have been getting some awfully good cards lately too. I better keep my eyes open for the downturn.
