was playing in a 20FPP WSOP freeroll on pokerstars (to qualify for the sunday tourney which gets a wsop entry). only the top 2 finishers get a spot, and with 326 people it was gonna be tough.
first hand i pick up AKspades, bump it up 200 preflop, 1 caller, flop the nut flush, checked it, he bet 100, called, called another 100, raised 300 and he called, off to a great start.
after 10 or 11 crappy hands im sitting in the small blind with 74o so i figure what the hell and call the extra 10 since everyone limped in. hit the middle pair and a flush draw, checked around, small bet on turn of 30 or so, and I hit a str8 flush on the river woot. 2 allins in front of me, and I take it down -- one had A high flush, other K-high.
After some steals, decent pots, and picking up KK once and AA 3, yes 3 times! and actually winning with them every time wooo, I've become the chipleader a few hours later with ~20 people remaining.
It gets narrowed down more and more, I take out one guys QQ with my AA again. Down to the final table now with 5 people left and second-short staked I pick up KK and raise 3x the bb, small stack goes allin, biggest stack calls, i reraise allin and he calls. KK vs. 99 vs. 1010 and I take it down woooo, am now in 2nd chip position with 4 people left.
After about 45mins of play with no one making any big moves, mostly just small steals, I pick up QK in the big blind, folded to sb, who raises it double the bb, I call, flop comes QK2 rainbow. He bets minimum, I raise, he reraises allin (is chipleader) and I call... hes got pocket 10's alright! but alas, the card gods are not shining on me tonight as pokerstars dishes out a 10 on the turn and a lousy 2 on the river. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhgoddam. 4hours of playing only to get beat like that pewp. ohwell at least it was some good practice, 4th outa 326 ain't entirely bad, and probably woulda been some decent money if it had been a real tourney =
