I know this is like the 2nd hand of a tourney, maybe i could have just called the re raise. But the only hand i thought he could have that would beat me was 33, thought he may have even limped with Q8 and caught 2 pair on the turn. Anyone folding this or maybe just call and check/call the river?

I know its 2

Hard to say since you posted the results. I mean...I know you were beat now. :D

But 2nd hand in its a tough fold unless you've played with the guy before. Could just be a loose gun, could be a tightie. Who knows.

Guy raises 330 into a 180 pot second hand of a tourney with any kind of hand possible due to the lack of preflop action that can beat me. I'd have been afraid of 88 or 33 more than AQ, but I'd have been afraid enough.

I fold it.

sorry to say montrealer, youre lying

i can damn near gaurantee everyone at this board calls

especialy in the 2nd hand of a tourney when i have a very good hand, im looking to double up here, not fold and play the shortstack for hte rest of the tourney

Looks fine. I’m going out on this hand too.

  • You’re on the BB so he could put you on garbage.
  • He might be making a move with something like KQ, QJ or even JsTs
  • He might have an AJ-AT and figure he’s ahead to your Queen.
  • If this is a low stakes game he could have something insane.
  • You still have a full house and nut flush draw.

Ok two things here.

First, this is why I hate playing A-rag hands. If someone has a dominate kicker your screwed. In this case your paired your kicker which makes it very hard to lay this hand down. Problem there is the other player paired their kicker as well.

Second, The only way I could even think to see you getting out of this hand a winner would be all-in after the flop. Hopefully the other person would put you on TPTK or two pair and lay it down.

I'm not lying, I've just gotten burned with two pair over the past few weeks enough that I don't think I'm golden with it anymore.

I mean, if you think shortstacked is T1370 when you start with T1500, then I guess you should move all-in; I'd disagree.

Now, I'm not faulting the guy on his play; I would have done the same thing a month ago. Then again, maybe I'd do the same thing if I were actually in the situation; I'm just pointing out that it's not an automatic all-in situation; far from it.

I make the call, his bet looks too big for a set, and it's hard to put him on a better hand then yours since he limped. I doubt many people make this laydown.

I think flat-calling the re-raise on the turn is a bad idea, I don't see how can fold on the river and it's not a hand to slowplay after that action.
