I dont know what to play.....

Posted Fri Feb 17, 2006 12:42 pm GMT by kingetje
I have an account on Party Poker, started out with $50, made it into a 100 dollars, then withdrawed 50 so that i am now playing with my profits... its going allright and all, however: i have made that money by playing $.15/.30 fixed limit in the beginners section...

but in a short while (im guessing a few days from now) i wont be able to play in the beginners section anymore and my 60 something bankroll isnt really big enough to play $.5/1 FL (the lowest limit game on PP) now is it? way too risky right? i mean one bad beat and half my stack will be gone..... what should i play? i could try $10 NL but these 10 handed ring games i dont like... i prefer 6 handed NL so i am able to scoop up lots and lots of pots by betting and bluffing at the right time which is suiting me very well at Royal Vegas Poker... but they dont have that at PP do they?

So can anyone advise me which game would be best to play after i cant enter that section anymore considering my bankroll?

thanx..

Why can't you continue to play at the micro limit tables? Is there some sort of cap that I'm not aware of?

Also, a $60 roll should be sufficient for .50/1 FL btw. The most you can lose on a given hand is $12 and that really shouldn't happen very often.

After a certain period of time they won't let you play the beginner tables.

A 60BB downswing isn't unusual in limit.

Play those beginner tables as much as possible in the next couple of days. See if you can get that BR close to 100 by the time it ends. Then just grind out the $5 SNG's untill you get a bigger roll.

True; still, .50/1 is doable with $60 unless you're already tapping into you rent money. He pulled out his initial buy-in too, in case he does start out on a bad run at least he still has that.

I was not aware of that

Party lets you play the Beginners tables for 45 days after your first real money deposit.

Also, kingetje, be aware that to clear your first deposit bonus probably required 7x your bonus in raked hands within 30 days (if they haven't changed that), but re-load bonuses usually require 10x within 7 days. And at .50/$1.00, I found about 50-60% of hands played were raked (the pot has to reach $5.00 for that limit to get raked).

OK thanx for the replies.. unfortunately my bankroll has dwindled down to around 35 now due to some uncoordinated $5 SnGs and .25/.50 FL. but im back out there grinding it out on my leather ass..
