Don't think I've ever started a post in here, but I have to share.
Last night in my weekly home game I had a nice experience. It was a 9 player SnG NLH tourny and everyone was still in, still at the first level. I raised preflop from middle position with AJs and got a two callers. The flop comes JT5 rainbow and I bet over half the pot. One player calls and the other immediately goes all-in (it was Carson actually). I was pretty sure the overbet meant I had him beat, so I called. The third player says all-in quickly and flips his pocket 55 without realizing that I still had a small number of chips to call the bet. After everything settled down I folded, saving myself less than 20% of the starting chip amount. I was right though, Carson had T9o and was trying to steal it "Right read, wrong player."
So I'm pretty much screwed.
I then go on a tear that ranked among the top tears of my poker life. I manage to steal a blind, then limp in an catch a set and double. Couple hands later I limp with AA, catch a beautiful ace-high rainbow board and double again, taking out another player. Flop another set with sixes a couple hands later. Eventually I end up all-in against the big stack (the guy who originally showed too early) and take him out with QT against his JT with a ten high flop. I've now got a massive chip stack and just bully people around with gusto, making some loose calls and winning. My AQ takes out a KK. My KQ takes out AT. Pretty soon I've got 90% of the chips in play and I'm heads up, having eliminated 5 of the players personally. Push, push, push, I win.
It was glorious and all happened because someone made one little mistake that allowed me to save a couple of doomed chips.
