I'll tell you where you went wrong with this hand--you let him take control of the hand on the flop. Personally, I think the villain has AK, but he could have you beat: 77 is about the only possibility for a straight I think, or he might have hit a set. But the fact that he didn't bet the turn says AK to me.
The problem is, you had a crucial decision on the turn. If you thought you had the best hand, you had position, so you should have reraised. If you thought he had you beat, you should have thrown away the Jacks. Then, when he checks to you on the turn, he basically surrendered control of the hand--why didn't you bet there?

Diamond, excellent comments all. I had villian on AK from the beginning but had the briefest moment of doubt at the turn...thought maybe I was beat and villian was checking to induce the bet to come over the top. I know I donked up the turn but luckily I re-found my cajones on the river...(and man, I have taken such wicked beatings with JJ before, that prolly factored into it too...)
ADK_Rick calls $7.10.
jachstraw shows K A high card ace.
ADK_Rick shows J J a pair of jacks.
ADK_Rick wins $29.80 from the main pot with a pair of jacks.
