I was looking around for a method of calculating the odds of winning with a particular hand preflop and I found this article....
http://homepages.strath.ac.uk/~hbs96106/lecture%20notes/AET%20-%20Game%20Theory%20of%20Poker.pdf
In it there is a table that shows the odds of winning a particular hand when facing between 1 and 9 players. My question is how do they calculate this table? Thanks.

Probably just a simulator.

The article is also geared towards 'push' preflop strength. That means the results will be biased towards pocket pairs, which are much stronger hands in a push/fold type of play than they are in hands were the pot may change at every street and the majority of profits from a hand will be made in the last betting rounds.
Not that pocket pairs aren't much stronger hands than many believe, but you won't get much action from hands that miss in regular play.
The probably use a monte carlo simulation or similar to get these results. Google for it.
