I am not advocating this...in fact I NEVER do this. For prelude, this was about 2 hours into a session where villian had been there the whole time...I had seen him limp with big pairs twice that I knew of, which is weird play. So when I caught KK in the BB I decided to just check it and see if I could surprise someone. Esp since my table rep is squeeky tight. But here is how it turned out.....

That's why the answer for every question is: It depends.

Mixing up your play is good Smile

That's when the bear sets the bear trap.

That's the kind of hand my sticky wet dreams are made of. Nice work.

I absolutely love it when there are two people involved in a hand, and each one thinks they are setting the ultimate trap. You sneaky bastard. Well done.

heh, I remember a couple hands at the final table of a THP freeroll involving General Sal and I.

First hand(First hand might have been against someone else) , he had pocket acesand I had hit a lower set, he was playing it slow trapping me, and I was just betting small to keep him around, he snaps his trap on the turn or river and i take his chips.

A little bit later I have A9 and hit my two pair, and I'm slowplaying to trap him, I snap the trap on the river to run into his set of aces, he didn't raise throughout the whole hand Very Mad

What's funny is that you are thinking how sneaky you were, but no matter how you played this hand, the guy is going to get all in with QQ vs KK - Especially when a K&Q flops.

Yeah, that's the beauty of a hand like this...there is absolutely no way to screw it up (unless a flush comes I guess)...but given this exact board villian goes all-in every time and so do you.

Yeah, I admit to popping a little wood when I saw the flop...although I wasnt expecting to get paid as handsomely as I did when I saw the flop.

It's funny, because when it goes the other way, you think on it & still come to the same decision - No mater how I play the hand, I'm losing all my chips.

For example - I was in a MTT yesterday & got AA on the button. I raised, SB came over the top, I went all in, and he called.

He has QQ and flops a Queen. No sense in even getting mad at a hand like that - It's POKER and I got POKED.

Phil Gordan has a great line in his little green book. I don't remember the exact text, but the jist of it is get your money in with the best hand. Once you do that, your job is over. Win or lose, you got in with the best of it. Helps to rationalize bad beats. :D

Yep. The bad beats still hurt, but it hurts so much less when you know you made the right play and the cards just didn't fall your way.
Phil's a pretty smart guy. I'm going to have to get that book.
