I checked Tvl Chnl Wed March 1st and WPT was on with Courtney Friel hostessing. Was that the new season or some special event?

It is part of the old season, but the event was never televised. It was the battle of champions from all the other tournaments in Season 3. So, while it was "new", the actual Season 4 starts the 8th.
