Advice needed

Someone has once told me that "1/2 shorthanded limit holdem is a losing proposition." Is there any truth to this? I've been playing it for quite a while, but am currently on a break from it. At the start it was great, I was hitting everything and avioding tons of bad beats, which translated into lots of profit. But then everything turned bad. Started missing draws, getting beaten by all the donks, and losing lots of money. Is there anyone out there that consistantly makes money in SH 1/2? If so, can you please let me in on some secrets? :D
Thanks

I made roughly 3bb/100 when I played it on Party and Pacific. What kind of questions do you actually have, though?

Yes it is beatable, and yes it's not very different than other SH poker. Have you read any Sklansky or any theory on Fixed limit poker? That's prolly your safest bet.

I am familliar with Sklansky- read Theory of Poker, and I've begun reading Small Stakes Poker. I'll finish it up and re-read ToP. Just as a general question, do you see a difference between PartyPoker players and PokerStars players. Some friends have told me that the calibur of play seems to be better at Stars.

Its pretty swingy, huge downswings and upswings are common. My guess is you've just bumped into a downswing.

These games are indeed very profitable, but because players tend to be quite loose, they can also be very costly.

By playing good poker plus standard poker + some adjustments for loose games (see SSHE or a few good articles on the net for these), you should show a nice profit on average.
