This one made NO sense to me |

Big pot, 8/16, 5-6 way action preflop and 2 bet, I had limped w/ QJ and called a raise.
Flop 987 rainbow, blind bets out, many callers, I raise hoping for 10 outs but really just looking for a free card. Blind, who is a dealer/floor guy there, 3 bets, now I know he flopped the straight. But the pot is so big, that even w/ 3-4 outs, I still have odds.
Turn 7, hmmm, now someone w/ bottom 2 has me drawing dead. Someone w/ 98 is now counterfieted, so I might be at 10 outs or 3 or 4 again, I call.
River 10, bingo. Blind comes out betting, 2 call, I raise, he 3 bets......damn damn damn he has a boat. All fold, I call and hating myself.
He shows J10. Huh? I really dont get his 3 bet. At best, he is splitting the pot w/ me. At worst, I have a boat. No way he puts me on QJ. W/ board of 10 9 8 7 7 what in the heck could I be raising w/ that J10 can beat? Oh well.
BTW-poker gods punished me about 10 hands later. A 4 flop A A 4 , turn 5 river Q. Showdown 23 in blind for wheel, boat for me, AQ for other dude. That was painful. $300+ pot flopped boat get rivered by 3 outer.

You're giving him too much credit, Dave. He hasn't given a thought to what you could possibly have, all he knows is that he has a straight and that you were probably bluffing.
It's part of what makes fishes fishes.

that would be true 95% of the time, but this guy worked in the card room. He was a dealer for years and is now a floor guy.
That is what just didnt make sense. It seemed like a complete donk play out of a decent player. Then I kicked myself for not 4 betting.

OK. Just because he's a floor guy and a dealer doesn't mean he has the slightest clue as to how to play poker.
I dunno. That's the best I can come up with.
