Ok, so they are showing a sneak preview of this, the Professional Poker Tour. From what I gather it's a bunch of pro's that you've all seen on TV before entered into a freeroll to decide who the best of the best is.
They are asking to phone a number at every break to give feedback. Well, I won't be doing that, I'll just have a little mini-rant here
The commentary isn't very good. Early Raymer was in a pot, and looking at his opponent. The other guy was looking at his chips. The commentators are freaking out and are going "OOOOOH! They hate each other! You can TELL! Their body language, oooooh! ISN'T THIS EXCITING?!?!" Basically a load of bollocks, and very annoying.
Also, Paul Magriel is disgustingly ugly. I had trouble watching him. He is also a really bad player. That filthy licking his does when he's in a pot is not good for TV. I considered phoning the PPT to let them know, but he went out quite quickly.
All in all, this could make for some interesting TV when it gets down to the latter stages of the tournament. Right now there are a bunch of really mediorce players that I just have no interest in watching. It is a nice idea to try to get rid of the complete amatuers though. Shame that this is only a preview and the full show doesn't air until the summer. I'll be back in the UK then.
What do you guys think of the preview of this show?
