Crud. Check/Call it down is what I would do.

What hands does our opponent cap on the flop which would mean that the J on the turn hurt us?

Q Spade J Spade caps that flop, so does AA or KK, maybe TT. J Club doesn't hurt us, it helps in most situations. I'm a pansy and would check/call unless I made full on the river.

But why would AA or KK not reraise pre?

You said you had no info on the table; I have even less. I'm just saying those are the hands that'd cap the flop. It's reasonable to discount those hands.

AQ?

Kinda looks like you're looking at either AQ, QJ, or a 4 flush. You're only ahead in one of those situations. I'm not sure that it's correct, but I think that I would check/call it down.

At least if he's got the straight and not the flush, you've got 4 outs to beat him with a boat and 3 outs (this assuming he does indeed have the Q of course) to tie him.

I don't think he has AA, KK, or QQ because as you mentioned, he would probably have raised you preflop.

*edit* - knowing the .50/1 FL tables though, you could very well be up against A-rag. Some people at those tables seem to go a little overboard with their top pair :p

Could very easily be up against A10-AQ knowing the general type of players residing at .5/1, but QJ is most definitely in play, and most reasonable players at this level don't cap without the nuts.

Check/call down. Situation where I'd definitely pay for information. On the flop there are only 4 hands that beat you, and it's pretty easy to rule out 2, maybe 3 of them, unless villain is very passive pre-flop. It'll only cost you $2 more to find out, and you may fill up on the river anyway.

I can't speak for pokerstars, but on the prima sites I played 0.5/1 at you would be looking at AQ here like...never. Most likely you would be up against TT,QJ or AT.

Strange that he capped it with bottom two pair on that flop.... Glad your outcome was good.

I would check the turn.

If he checks behind, I would bet the river.
