Besides constant play and thinking about different situations, anyone have any ideas on how to prepare for the WSOP tourney in Vegas?

Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

play it like any other tournament: smart
do what you normally do, whether that is to read books or take a week off from poker or whatever, just do it.

I'll be there, too. Have never played a live tourney. I'm looking for ways to deal with the 'intimidation' factor, which I'm sure is going to whow it's face to me.

Play some live poker and tell everybody you'll buy the snacks and beer if they'll tell you their reads on you for the night.
If there's legal poker near you, enter a live tournament or two. It's like online, but a lot of first time live players play too many hands because of the slower pace.

Precisely what I was going to say. Be patient.
Always try to use the same movement for every hand. i.e. Look at your cards, look at your chip stack, grab a handful of chips, look at your opponent, make your play. Whether you call, check, raise or fold try to keep your actions the same. This makes it tougher for your opponents to read you.

Don't forget to set them up.
Let's say that you make a move at a pot and get called or raised.
Remember what you did to get that call; how you threw chips in, tone of voice, et cetera. When you're wanting a call, try to do the same thing. Hopefully they read you as weak and you can get a raise out of them.
