Has anyone from the UK been watching this? I caught an episode on the weekend and found it quite entertaining, the international theme is good because it gives you someone to support.
I have to say I was very impressed by Bengt Sonnert and Clonie Gowen.

I think i may have caught the same episode, Clonie was looking gorgeous, one of the Hendon mob was playing for UK? Not Ram or a Boatman, the other one?
But yes, quite entertaining stff, i liked that it was a full table with one of each country rather than HU

Joe 'The Elegance' Beavers.
He was playing well and managed to take a 1st place the trailing UK vitally needed. I know the footage is only highlights but did you think Joe slow played his big hands too much? Maybe this brought him a lot of free cards in other hands that we didn’t see but sometime I found myself shouting “bet it!” at the screen.
E.g.
Joe calls a pre-flop raise with position and 99. His opponent has AQo
Flop 248
Check, Check.
Turn 7
Check, Check.
River Q
Bet, Fold
The commentator said that no one seemed interested in getting in pre-flop races as a fractional favourite, instead they preferred to play it from the flop. Which resulting in a surprising passive table, considering how short handed it was.

Yeah, i think maybe the points for places system passified them to an extent. No-one wanting to take a chance hoping that someone else would and they would move up.
Clonies laydown with TT to a J hi board? very disciplined!
