I heard somewhere 2/3rds of the time , without a pocket pair , you won't flop a pair on the board. How relatively true is this ?
The comment sparked my curiosity.

It is true you will only flop a pair with two unpaired cards about 36% of the time.
The calculation for this is: P(a) = 1 - 44/50 + 1 - 43/49 + 1 - 42/48

You may like our Pre-Flop Calculator.
keep in mind tho that, that number means flopping *only* one pair, so it takes out the chances of trips, two pair, full house, that kinda thing

Yea , i like that tool
But it says;
Chance of getting 1 Pair on the flop: 26.94%
Which is different then what i'm told , unless im looking at that wrong.
*edit* thanks xDiamond_CutteRx , exactly what i was looking for.

Yeah, that is the chance of getting one pair, but also not having two pair, or 3 of a kind, or something better...so its showing the chance of a pair minus chances of two pair, minus chance of 3 of a kind, minus full house, blah blah.../b
