So it was a buddies birthday last night and a we had a VIP room booked at one of the clubs here. Maybe I'm getting old or something but I just don't have fun at clubs anymore. I have my woman at home so there really isn't a reason for me to drop a couple hundred on drinks....
Anyway, me and another buddy took off at around 12:30 to go play some cards. First casino we went to didn't have NL (Elbow River) so we went to the Stampede casino. They had plenty of games running but wouldn't let us in because me buddy was a drunken mess. So off to the Cash Casino.
We sat down for some $1/2 NL at a short table (6 players total) and tried our luck. Well, buddy was busted out right away, about 15 hands, and then disappeared somewhere for the rest of the night. Not many crazies at this table. Fairly typically game with nothing out of the norm happening. I only get really involved in two hands. One I had A 2 on the button. I made it $10 to go and got 2 callers. Flop comes A92 with a heart. It checked to me and I tossed out $25. 1 caller, 1 fold. Turn comes 8 . Sweet. Two pair with a nut draw. Checked to me, I toss out $50 and guy calls. Hadn't seen this guy play many hands so I thought there was a good chance that I was behind at this point. River was a rag, he checked to me, and I took the free showdown. He flipped A9 for a flopped top two. Thought it was kind of odd that he didn't pop me on the turn. Had he re-raised I prolly would have pushed and lost my buy-in right there.
Other hand I had K6 in the BB. UTG makes it $5, whole table calls, so I figure, what the hell. Flop T66. Excellent. SB leads out for $20. I make the donkish play and min-raise to $40. Everyone folds, SB calls. Turn 6 :D . Made my quads. SB checks to me. Here is were I screwed up. He must have a ten or a PP. I should have bet out knowing that he had a boat and would pay me off. But alas, I checked. River A. Prolly the worst card that could have come. If he didn't have the ace its a complete scare card for him. He checked to me again, I pushed my remaining $60 or so in. He thought long and hard about it then said, "You hit the Ace didn't you" and folded. Pissed off about this I flipped my 6 in disgust.
I got moved through a couple tables with nothing exciting happening. At about 3am I was moved to the main game as there was only 3 tables left running at this time. This table was ridiculous. First hand I saw, UTG raises $55! I'm think holy shit... what a ridiculous bet. But sure enough, two guys cold call. Flop comes AKQ rainbow. I'm thinking holy shit there is gonna be some fireworks here. Checks around. Turn 8. Checks around. River 5. UTG raiser tosses out $100. Both players call. UTG takes down the pot with JJ.
There were definitly a bunch of crazies at this table. See plenty of all-ins with low PP, Axs and KTo. It was ugly. Unfortunatly I didn't get shit all night. Got some low PPs a couple times but couldn't hit a set. Seen a few flops with ugly connectors that started looking good but couldn't hit anything. Finally I look down UTG and find KK. I make it $15 to go expecting to get raised. Nope. The one guy who raised pretty much every hand just called as did this crazy calling station and a tight player from the SB. Flop came Q62 w/ 2 clubs. SB leads for $35. I had about $120 left at this point and just pushed it in. I was hoping/expecting one of the crazies behind me to call but no such luck. SB thought about it for a while then folded. I think pushing here was really my only option. I didn't want to call because the wackos behind would definitly stick around and the flush draw had me worried. A min-raise here would leave me only $50 so I thought the push was best. Yes? No?
Anyway, I played for about 6 hours and ended up paying $24 for a wack of pizza and I think I drank about 15 bottles of apple juice (I started sobering up around 3am).
It was definitly a good experience and I plan on getting back very soon. I know that I can kill this game if I stay patient.

1. What the hell is a wack of pizza?
2. Sounds like an ok night, where if you were to just get called one time when you moved all-in it probably would've made you make some money on the night. Keep up the good work, I like reading these trip report posts and the like.

1) A wack = lots. Was sitting there playing cards when some guy walks in with 20 larges and only about 25 people in the card room
2) You're dead on. A couple calls and I'm definitly + on the night. But I got what I deserved for playing uber tight and playing a couple hands wrong.
