They say a man should never try to teach his wife a new hobby... for instance golf. Well, that goes for Texas Hold-em...
I enjoy having something to share with her...She has started playing online while I watch -- she claims to value my input. (yeah, right)...
So we are playing last night. UTG and she gets KTo. I'm iffy on this hand in 1st position, but she calls. Everyone folds except the BB.
Flop comes with a couple of low cards and an A. He checks...we check..
Next card another un-related card. he makes a small bet and she checks
River brings another A... He bets hard 250...
before I have a chance to say anything she calls... we have a pair of As (on the board) and a K kicker... of course he has an A.
I say "Why did you do that???!!"..
she says, " I was bluffing "...
I then proceed to explain to her that if you're bluffing you certainly don't call... but evidently my explanation was a bit too loud or overbearing...

I know what you mean. I thought yeah sure its cool. But damn then it sucked when she said something about it. NOw on the other hand it doesnt realy bother me when we all do it together. Ummm yeah this has been done. But this is a poker site.

As for playing poker, my hubby and I have an understanding. If I ask him what he would do or vice versa, the reply is always "I'll tell you once the hand is done." We're both honest when we say "I would've called/raised/folded" no matter what comes out or how the hand finishes. He's never fussed at me for making an improper call (because I never have  ) or for not raising when he would have done so. It's actually quite fun that we have something that we can do together, other than the obvious. Also, our odds are better in home games and tourneys because both of us are playing. And, yes, we do go heads-up quite often. I'm not going to fold because it's just us in the pot and neither is he. We're both too competetive to play that way. In fact, we really want to beat each other just as much, if not more than we do everyone else at the table.
Also, when one of us is playing online we usually have a heads-up tourney going on too. That way the other can still play poker and work on their tournament play. Of course the chips don't represent money in those games. We have other stakes. :D
