Seneca Niagara Casino

Posted Mon Mar 22, 2004 3:21 pm GMT by PuckJunkieNY
Made a trip up to Buffalo (NCAA B-ball tourney) this weekend to meet up with a bunch of old college friends. We made the obligatory trip to one of the many Canadian Ballet venues on Lundy's lane in Niagara Falls and then headed to the American side casino.

OFF TOPIC: These strip clubs (or the one we went to) BTW have changed huge since I last visited 4 yrs. ago w/the same guys. Basiscally they are whore houses now...the girls openly offered BJ's or sex for cash...they practically got offended when I said..."uh, no...how bout a bit of "dancing" instead. Crazy, but I'm sure some guys were thrilled with the change in services. The prices were quite fair considering the exchange rate if your into paying for it Laughing.

BACK ON TOPIC:
I was sad to see that the Seneca Casino did not yet have poker rooms in operation. Played a bit of Blackjack and drank beer w/my buds for awhile (I was much more successful at the later :D ) I did ask the pit boss about when they would have a Poker room up though. He said the plan for having it up was for May. I look forward to it.

Well they seemed fair, however without sampling the product for quality assurance i cannot truely say what kind of bang for your buck you would really be getting. (pun intended) Laughing

how far is the drive from Toronto??
i would be very interested in going when they open up the poker room

How fast do you drive? Wink

It's about approx. 1.5 hours heading south on the QEW from downtown Toronto. Cross the Rainbow bridge and you are there. It's the old convention center. I don't know if the Casino on the Canadian side (Casino Niagara) has a poker room or plan on it. They did not last time I was there (about 1.5 years ago). The two casinos are less than 1 mile apart, so it would be cool if they did.

Oh the Canadian Ballet. Boy I miss it. Spent many a teenage friday night getting cocked on Molson Canadian and rolling up dollar bills to stuff in my mouth for "tippin".

I've been to the Canadian Casino, but didn't realize the American one was even open. Is it in Niagara Falls or downtown Buffalo?

It's in Niagara Falls about 1/4 mile from the Rainbow Bridge. It's the old Niagara Falls Convention Center refurbed.

Hey Puck, have you gone up and played at that "poker club" on Andrews Street???? The dude got busted for taking a rake but still runs the tourny's twice a week....$65 buy-in.

I havent made my wait up yet, but a few of my friends have and said its pretty cool.

Just curious if you've checked it out or not. i can get the info for you if you havent heard about it. If you've been there let me know what you think.

myonker,

You from Crapchester too?

I have not been yet to the Andrews Streeet poker room, and actually only found out about it about 2-3 weeks ago. My wife told me about it when she saw a D&C article (local paper for you non-crapchestarians) on the resurgence of poker. Hell, I thought I remembered it as Alexander street...hmmm...maybe another one?? Anyway, they mentioned that place and another local bar that run's a several week tourney/league. Don't ask, cuz I forgot the bar's name and it was already under way. I keep meaning to see if I can find the article again in the version's achives.

Please post here or PM me with any info you have. Once work and life settle down a bit I'd love to check the place out.

ThanX,
Bro

yeah Puck, I'm a crapchestarian, actually I'm a 315'er so I guess that makes it worse.

I called the guy who ran the place and he seemed pretty cool. My friends say he's a good guy...doesnt tolerate any bad behavior,...keeping it a fun but serious atmosphere.

..and I hear ya about the work and life thing!!! at least we're working though (my job hasnt gone overseas yet) Laughing

Thanks myonker.

That was the article I read previously. Just read it again...yeah The Baird Road Pub was the bar I was referring to as well...that's closer to you being a 315er and all...may be worth a look when the new Tourney get rolling. Suppose the wait list may be long though.

Let me know when you go to the Andrews St. Place. I'll do the same if b4 you.

Seneca Niagara in Niagara Falls, USA just opened their room last weekend.

2/4, 3/6, 5/10, 10/20, 20/40, and NL Texas Hold 'Em, 1/5 Stud, 5/10 Omaha are offered. Tourneys in about a month. 20 tables....free drinks...they bring food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner time, and they are open 24 hours. The dealers are really friendly, as are the Floor people.

If you have been to either of the other Seneca poker rooms in Irving, NY or the newer one in Salamanca, NY....this one blows them away. Turning Stone too, as I'm told....takes a back seat to this Room....but I have never been there, so...
