ok now that im done tilting like mad, i put him on AK with the mini raise and the call. as soon as he started reraising my red flags went up, but i didnt slow down. cuz im dumb
anyways, im dumb. i played it horribly, im very aware. please dont tell me.

I really don't see the issue here. Yes, it stinks but it happens from time to time
Posted Wed Apr 05, 2006 8:12 am GMT by zinn0
Not a bad beat at all. Also, Huskie...if you need this money, why are you playing poker with it?
Posted Wed Apr 05, 2006 10:59 am GMT by greathuskie
because i owe my parents money and i dont have a job
that and i didnt deposit anything to get the money
my aces lost to kings for the biggest pot i was inolved in for the night, that was the issue

Consider yourself lucky he hit trips on the flop.
Had he called with J4, catching runner-runner two pair, you'd still be steaming...

I think he explained himself pretty good in his 2nd post, no need to press this.
I think controlling tilt is probably your most important issue Huskie, as long as I have posted on here, I can remember posts about you tilting and losing it at the tables. Tilt is a bad habit.

Quoted for truth. When you take those tough beats, you have to find a way to lower your blood pressure after. Otherwise you make mistakes and your tilt just gets worse. Next time you feel you're on tilt, take a shot and post another "hi" in here. After you've told everyone you love them, you can't be on tilt any more.
Posted Wed Apr 05, 2006 8:13 pm GMT by greathuskie
i tilt muy easily, its so frustrating when stupid shit gets paid off and its like, why? for every bad beat i give, i take 5 more, it sucks.
Posted Wed Apr 05, 2006 9:16 pm GMT by greathuskie
ok, since that wasnt a bad beat for you guys, how about this one?

Ok, I'll let you have that one.

Posted Thu Apr 06, 2006 7:24 am GMT by BeerWench13
That one's pretty bad. I'll give you that.
I had AA cracked last night in the first hand of a SNG. He called my 6XBB preflop raise with T6o, flopped a gutshot, called my pot-sized bet, missed on the turn but called my all-in only to hit his 4-outer on the river. C'est la vie. All I said was "nh" and went on about my business. No use getting upset. I really wanted that guy to call me all the way. He just wasn't supposed to hit on the river.
One thing that may help you, is to limit your chat. When you chat a lot, especially after a bad beat, it shows your tilt to your opponents. I don't know about other players, but if I see someone on tilt, I'm playing at them hard to send them over the edge. They're likely to make many more mistakes when they're tilted. I will do everything in my power to use this to my advantage.

That one was a tough one as well. You got your money in with the best hand, that's all you could do. Unfortunately, your hands aren't holding up to the river. Welcome to my world for the last 6 months. It sucks, it blows, but it's poker. Suck it up and keep going at it. They can't catch on you every time.

Huskie, I'm sure you know this because you're an experienced player, but instead of steaming over your beats, think about those times when you were a huge favourite to win. In your first situation, your AA is approx 80% - not only realize that 8/10 times you will win a nice pot, but also that you have to accept the 2/10 times you lose. It's a frustrating part of poker but you really can't cry over split milk. Keep playing well, and getting your money in with the best hand.
Once again, I think you are aware of all this -- just a reminder.
Good luck.

lol I think you need to calm down a bit Huskie. After each beat you start going crazy in the chat - is it really necessary? Just makes you seem like a donkey. People who can contain themselves and keep their cool, despite being beaten recently, are more respected and viewed as better players (IMO).

I bet you are a riot to play with at a live game. I see people like you and inwardly shake my head as they get so worked up about things when they should just gracefully move on. Then again, I love it when they play a marginal hand badly pre-flop, hit a lucky flop and still lose because they shouldn't have been in the pot. Nothing pleases me more

limping in with A7 at a 6handed game is hardly playing a hand badly preflop.

That's the hand I'm referencing.
I've got it up on my second monitor, so I'll be sure I'm not misreading it.
You limp, with A7o. Which makes me think it was the hand you were referencing.
Flop comes 7TJ.
You have A7o. Your opponent who ends up winning, has J6.
What did I miss?
Posted Sun Apr 09, 2006 11:26 pm GMT by greathuskie
ummm he checked the flop i bet it, the turn brought my card. if it was the other way around and i had J6 and checked it and the better caught his card then i have no one to blame but myself for not betting or raising him out ofthe pot when i DID have the best but very vulnerable hand. but on the turn i made my hand, and with him down to his last 2 outs, he made it on the river
Posted Mon Apr 10, 2006 8:13 am GMT by BeerWench13
Boorrrriiiinnnngggg
I take beats like this every session. Everyone does. It's part of the game.
I flopped two pair yesterday, bet the pot, got a caller. Turn was a blank, I bet the pot, guy called again. I pushed what I had left on the river and he called. He rivered his 2nd pair which was higher than either of mine. Did I get all bent out of shape? No. That's poker. I just bought back in and proceeded to retrieve my money. Get over it, move on.
I will say that if I were playing in your room online and you started to rant like you do, I'd be in every hand with you just trying to suck out on you to tilt you a little more. But, I'm evil. I'm sure no other poker players think that way.

Sorry, huskie. I woke up on the evil side of the bed today. Rant all you want. We're just trying to help you accept the bad beats as part of the game and not let them send you on tilt. That just causes you to lose more money. No one wants to see that, unless we're playing against you, of course.

That's not what I meant, but we know Huskie fairly well and he doesn't always respond well to criticism. No big deal really, but it's evident that he didn't want the kind of responses he got.

Tilt...it can be an opponents best friend and your worst nightmare. I love putting players on tilt. Be on a flush draw when they have TPTK, 2 pair or even a set and hit your flush. Watch those players go on tilt and start playing wild and stupid. Then just set back and wait for premo hands and push with them. Gets them every time.
No Husky I am not refering to you here. I am just saying I love putting someone on tilt and then capatilize on it. If I read a chat and find the player getting angry I know they are going on tilt soon. One or two more good pushes is all you need to tilt them.
When you do the chat thing and talk about how bad they played or how stupid other players are your feeding opponenets vital information. The more information you give an opponent the worse of a beating they can deal out on you. I got that juicy tidbit from Reading The Art of War.
If anything feed them misinformation with things like nh...or you played that well and throw a smiley face at them. Make them think they made the right play and wait till they do it again and get your chips back plus more.

I agree with Ure here. The best response to a horrible suckout is nh or, at worst, nc. When you talk about what a horrible play they made, you're only helping their game. Now, that's fine for your friends or your cousin/brother/sister/nephew/etc. who is learning how to play, but not for your opponents online. Take no prisoners. Help no one but yourself. Show no mercy.

the thing is i dont tilt away money, and if i do i know i do and dont even bother lying about it. i dont tilt and starting playing stupid, i get royally pissed off and it goes up exponentially with each bad beat one after another, especially if they come in such a short time like they were.

Yeah but you play underbankrolled. You're never going to win until you stop. Each bad beat is 100000 times worse because of it.

No, not really. If he's deposited 15 or 20 times with the same result, then he's not underbankrolled...
...he just sucks.

who said i depositied 15 or 20 times?
and im fully aware i play underbankrolled, most of the time i bust because of it, however a few times i have more then made up for those times i bust by NOT getting suckout out for all my cash or whatever.

There's no way I can answer that baffling statement until you realize that your bad luck isn't the reason you'll never win money at poker.

the purpose of this post was to share my continual bad beats. in this particular case, bad beats WERE the reason i didnt win money, and alot of it at that. theres no doubt about that
