Seriously, the topic says it all. I heard him compare this dumb puke of a kid in Aruba to Stu Ungar. In the Poker world, that ought to be punishable by death.

Did he have a "word of the day" tonight? I missed the broadcast.

Wow, I'm catching it on the encore presentation and I just saw the Stu reference.
I VVP.

I think he was drunk, he said a ton of stuff that was clearly wrong. Guy flops 2nd pair (KJ4 -he has Jx) well you cant blame him for calling w/ top pair. WHAT?????

According to "One of a kind" Mike Sexton was quite close to Stuey in his latter days so i'm surprised he didn't punch him out right there and then.
VVP = A Hollywood Homo

Yeah, I remeber that reference. I tell ya though, that hand where the two guys each had 73o was unreal. They both were playing it like they had pocket rockets. And the guy who finally hits the flush folds it to the push!

Not related to VVP or anything, but I swear that when I was in Vegas that I played against that Josh guy that was on last nights broadcast. He looked just like the guy, his voice, mannerisms, and body language were spot on as well. They both also had the same playing style.
I only remember him because when I sat down next to him at the table he had over $1300 in front of him. This was $1/2NL, mind you, and by the time I left 3 hours later, he was down to about $150.
Of course, I might be crazy...

Has anyone caught any of the old WSOP broadcasts? Vince's old man is either senile or a complete f***tard.

Yeah I remember the 7 3 hand, that was amazing. That kid is ok, but I really hate the call with 33 at the 2nd last hand.

I dont think I make that call against the average Joe. But if I was playing a top pro and had a chance to win it there, even risking facing an overpair, I think I take it.

I don't think any of this should require a public execution.

Was watching the WPT Aruba broadcast (had to tape it) and caught an error in the commentary, I think. One person had A-K suited and another had A-7 suited. A7 goes all in (I think--really doesn't matter). Flop comes J-J-7 but giving A-K player the nut flush draw.
Sexton and van Patten repeatedly said that A-K needed a diamond or a K to win, but wouldn't an Ace also have counterfeited the 77 and made the king kicker good? I caught this because they are usually really good at identifying all of the outs in a hand including the outs to tie. Did two ther players fold Aces that I just didn't notice???
A-K went on to make his flush on the river.

I agree, I think the kid realized he was outclassed and had been on a nice little run. He saw an opportunity to possibly win it right there and took it.
I think he knew that the longer he played HU with Deeb, the worse his chances of winning were.

I noticed a part where there was a raise of $120,000, but the pot total in the corner of the screen jumped from $160,000 or so to over $300,000.

Wasnt that guy under 21? I remember them saying he was going to be the youngest winner in WPT history and the only reason he gets to play in it is because its not on US soil. Maybe he had a fake, but it was prob not him.

Mackkie, it's very possible. I didn't see the whole broadcast, so I can't be certain how old he is. It sure seemed like the guy I met in Vegas though.

That guy was pretty crazy and all over the place, Hes def. a unique individual and someone that stands out in a crowd...so maybe u did play with him? Remember, according to VVP you played with the next Stu Ungar....consider yourself VERY lucky...lol

Did they ever say where the guy was from? I'm pretty sure the guy in Vegas told me he was from Chicago.

Just to resurrect this thread cos i just watched the episode in question.
I didn't realise that the "puke of a kid" referred to was Josh Schlein a.k.a. SDouble. I've known of this player as one of the great internet players over the past few years, i had no idea he was so young. GD these young internet punks
Watching him tho, he played superbly, and with all his antics, his jumping around and constant talking, I can actually see why Vince made this comparison. He is stil very young tho and of course, time will tell if he becomes just another kid who got lucky a few times before burning out or whether he truly will become a poker great.
Here's what p5's has to say on SDouble
Sdouble: jschl93994 on Paradise. A player who has no fear at the tables, regularly cashing big in the Step tournaments on Party and the biggest sit-n-go's and multitable tournaments on Stars. Well known for his aggressive style and a poker intellect that is matched by very few
I was astonished at his play. It really was a treat to watch IMO
oh! and he's from a place called Owings Mills in Maryland
