for 2 people to have a straight flush using both whole cards (flop comes 567d, people have both ends) or for 2 people to both have 4 of a kind?

the odds say straight flush is the longshot...and I've had this happen. It sucks.

One way to look at it is that the up and down SF only requires 7 "perfect" cards while double quads require 8. I suppose the worst would be the wraparound double gutter SF (say 24s v. JKs, board A35QTs) which would take 9 of 9 "perfect" board and dealt cards.

The straight flush, most definitely. I've seen quads over quads before and that's spectacular, but if you're holding a straight flush, you're not worried that your opponent has one too. What are the odds? I think that bad beat would hurt worse. JMO.

well, hopefully where ever you are playing, you'll get the bad beat jackpot...which is usually much sweeter than winning the hand
