Been a few days since I posted any progress, so I thought I'd fill anyone who cares in. The big story for me the last few days has been the $30 SnG's, as well as the $20 20-table tournaments on Stars. And so far, my record is as good as it's ever been.
For the $30 1-table tournies, I've had the following results:
Tournaments played: 29
First Place: 9
Second Place: 4
Third Place: 7
I'm very happy with that record. Less impressive for the $20 tournies.
$20 MTT's:
Tournaments played: 12
Cashes: 2
Third Place: 1
12th Place: 1
My successes at the Mixed Games have been a mixed bag. I did well yesterday, doing quite well at 2-7 Draw and A-5 Triple Draw, getting some good revenge on Emily and Katie. :D I also had some decent success at Omaha, where I won two large pots, one with a set that became a full house, and one with a big wrap straight- and nut flush-draw--in both cases, I ran it twice against my opponent and won both pots (lucky for me). Regrettably, I got trapped in a few pots during Razz and Omaha-8 that cost me some sizable sums. On the unlucky side, I lost a $600 pot with AA in the NL game. I put all my money in before the flop against a guy with KK--in the spirit of friendship, we both agreed to run it twice before we knew each other's hands (though it wasn't hard to guess). Now the sad part--I lost both times. The first time, and King came right in the door and I didn't improve. The second run I wasn't as worried, as there was only one King left in the deck. But it was worse. The flop came QJT, and the turn brought the ugly sight of a 9. Now I was the one who needed the case King, which of course never showed. Bummer--that was wicked unlucky.
The other sad story has been on the Stud tables on Stars--the Stud gods are angry, and I've lost about $250 in the last 2 days (-25 BB in two days is atrocious). Still, with my SnG successes and the occasional big pot in the mixed games has kept my BR healthy.
For now, I'm off to the big $50 two-day tournament. 72 players, top 7 get paid--not sure on the exact payouts, but I will let you guys know (they should be pretty juicy). Wish me luck, as this tournament will be about the most demanding endeavor I've undertaken in Poker yet.
Cheers all,
Dave aka xDiamond_CutteRx aka Turn_Prophet

Good luck, Diamond!
Knock 'em dead on the tables, and keep those updates coming!
P.S. Does Emily have that gorgeous Aussie accent as well? That would definitely distract me from my game... :D
