Round 2

Posted Tue Apr 11, 2006 6:55 pm GMT by Skribbles
Was bored and hungover Saturday night so I decided to make another venture to play some live $1/2.

Couple hands of note:

1) Bunch of limpers, I'm on the button w/ A4o so I limp as well. SB makes it $12 to go. All the limpers fold except for CO who calls. Had one more person called I would have played... but I make the "right" play and fold.
Flop: 235. Of course. And the pissing war begins. Both players were fairly deepstacked and had all the money in on the flop. BB flipped AA, CO shows a set of 5's. Would have been a quick and easy triple up but my tight ass ways just couldn't call.

2) I'm dealt KQs on the button. A few limpers, I pop it to $10 and get 2 callers. Flop KJ3. Not bad, not great. One check then a guy tosses out $15. I make it $40, 1 fold, 1 call. Turn 9. Guy leads for $25. I really don't know what to make of this play. The guy was pretty much a call station and would play any two connected/high cards. Two pair or a turned str8 was definitly possible. I called hoping to hit my gut-shot or get a free showdown. No such luck. River was a 8. He leads for $50. I really couldn't think of a hand that he could be holding that my measly top pair could beat so I tossed it away.

3) I wasn't involved but it was pretty interesting none the less. Crazy Azn Man had just moved to my table and had raised it to $10 pre-flop for the last 8-10 hands. He had taken down most of those hands without much of a contest. Then guy from SB pops him to $60. Sure enough, CrazyAznMan calls. Flop AT5. SB checks.... CAM tosses out $50 and SB folds! Guy asks him if he hit his Ace.... AznMan promptly flips over 85o for bottom pair. Sure enough guy folded KK.

4) I get 22 in the SB. MP raises to $7, 5 of us see the flop of JT2 w/ 2 clubs. Draw heavy boardso I want to make these guys pay. CrazyAznMan was in the pot so I was 95% sure that I could check/raise. Thankfull BB bets out $10. MP min-raises another calls, unfortunalty my AznMan folded. I re-raised to $60 and got 2 callers. Turn was a blank. I had about $125 left in front and looking at a pot of about $200. I pushed. Both called! One guy only had about $75 and the other guy had me covered. I was sure that I was a head at this point but any A, J, T, 9 or club could kill. Turn J. River K. One guy flipped Axs with just a blown flush draw and the other flipped KQ for a missed straight. I proudly show my boat and take down about $500.

Good night overall. Ended with an extra $324 in my pocket Wink

Nice with the small pocket pairs. They are a goldmine at live 1/2 donkfests. But you know the flush or straight would've come if you didn't fold A4.
