I am really bored, and you are 2nd right now

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 8:45 pm GMT by Johny
We're 4 at my table with 40k or more...

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 8:55 pm GMT by scez
Wow, I just saw that straight get cracked by a full house on the river. And I really wanted that guy out since he raised you all in a hand awhile ago.

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 8:59 pm GMT by Johny
Yeah, I hadn't seen that hand, had to check the hand history. I'm not sure why he pushed. I don't see a worse hand calling there.

EDIT: misread the HH, still iffy call though...

I had KJ when he moved-in, he made the decision easy for me.

I want a table change. There's 4 players with over 100bb, 1 with over 200bb and 1 with over 300bb.

Yes, your table has some huge stacks compared to the blinds. I do not know how you have the patience to play in these huge tournys. You have been playing for 4+ hours and still 89/438. The the blinds are not even hurting people. But I guess I am used to free roll blinds :p

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:21 pm GMT by Johny
Yeah, it's very tiresome.

Did you see that K2? I had QQ.

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:27 pm GMT by Johny
I have the chip lead again. I have 77k with blinds at 200/400.

I doubled up with KK on a Q 10 x flop vs. AQ.

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:29 pm GMT by scez
Congrats, I have stopped watching. Good luck on the rest of the tourny, may the bubble gods attack the people beside you. I am off to be a freeroll whore.

Johny Johny, he's our man! If he can't do it, no-one can!

Razz

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:54 pm GMT by Johny
Thanks Zinn. Razz

I'm currently in 2nd, 86k with blinds at 300/600.

I'm secretly watching you...

Shocked

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:59 pm GMT by Johny
No chat? Thanks for watching. Smile

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 10:07 pm GMT by zinn0
I can't chat because I don't have a buy-in for the tourney. Damn Pokerstars...

btw, terrifying turn card on that AK v. AK all-in.

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 10:15 pm GMT by Johny
The spade on the turn hurt my gut.

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 10:25 pm GMT by Johny
When I flopped the set of Kings I should have bet the river, but I thought he was on a pure (weak) bluff. I was hoping he'd fire again.

He had 10s, I think he would have called a small river bet. Although that would have screamed strenght.

Hey Johny, any results yet? :D

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 10:33 pm GMT by Johny
I have the chip lead with 49 players left. I have 105k with blinds at 400/800.

That big pot where we were both bluffing was messed up. I KNEW he was stealing, but I couldn't call with 104s.

WOW.

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 11:44 pm GMT by LeafsFan1122
Yeah, I totally misread his hand lol. Put him on AA or something. When he flipped 27, i couldn't beleive it.

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 11:47 pm GMT by Johny
He called 20k on the flop with a gutshot! I thought he was stealing.

*Edit: took out my ranting

Posted Wed Apr 12, 2006 11:49 pm GMT by LeafsFan1122
gg Johny. Don't get discouraged..He made a terrible play. I was watching you play well though and that's really what matters. It's disappointing for you but congrats on your win and better luck next time. Smile

Sorry about my outburst, but that was very frustrating.

This hand really drained my brained, I knew he was stealing but I can't call with 104s. I thought his bluff was bad, I showed a lot of strenght. Plus the fact I had been playing extremely tight.

What place did you end up comming in?

Posted Thu Apr 13, 2006 7:40 am GMT by Johny
A very disappointing 28th, the hand I posted above took almost half my stack. I got knocked out with top two vs. a straight.

It's really disapointing since I was in the top 5 in chips from 140 players down to around 30.

Posted Thu Apr 13, 2006 10:01 am GMT by greathuskie
dont you hate being an early chipleader?

i did the same thing in a 3 dollar rebuy not to long ago, it almost assures a bad end Sad

Posted Thu Apr 13, 2006 3:29 pm GMT by UrAteUp
Sounds like you played really well Johny. The only thing I don't like is that bluff attempt but thats just me. I never was one to try to big of a bluff. Sure I will try to bluff if I know someone is playing TPTK and there is a flush draw or straight draw on the board, but never pre-flop. Like I said though thats just me.

28th is still quite good Johnny... just imagine it as a 28th Place finish in a WSOP event, because the play at these DeepStacks events in terms of stack:blinds ratio is fairly similar.

Keep up the good work, and let's both make a DeepStacks final table soon.
