Home game all-in decision

Just got back from a decent nite of poker with my semi-regular home game crowd where we played two 8-person SnGs for £10 buy-in. In game 1, everything went to plan and I came 1st fairly easily for a nice £50 prize. In game 2, I won the first hand for a small amount of chips and then picked up TT in MP on hand #2 and raised it. One guy called who oftens guns for me and refuses to believe I ever have a hand so I was looking forward to a flop. It obliged with an 8 high result and I bet out. The guy raised me and I went all-in. He called pretty quickly and showed A8 for the lose. He was a little annoyed as it was hand #2 and he'd gone out early in game 1 but that's tough shit Smile

Ok, so about 10 hands later, I limp 67 from MP because I have the sort of stack to do so and because the players I am up against are universally poor and almost never pre-flop raise. The flop comes 6 Spade 7 Heart X Spade. I am first to act and check awaiting action. A guy who took a hit on the previous hand goes all-in and the girl to my right who is fairly wild goes all-in over the top of him. I have them both covered but her stack is perhaps 70% of mine. I make the call assuming them both to be drawing or playing A7 or A6 and sure enough, one shows A6 but the other shows 8 Spade 5 Spade . Needless to say, I'm shitting a brick and the turn is of course a 9. There is a pause while everyone marks out (none of them understand odds anyway Smile) and then the river is a lovely 6 and I make the boat to dump them both. Life is sweet sometimes and I am a luckbox at the right time once a year Smile

I got heads up in that game vs a bit of a donk with about a 5:3 chip lead but proceeded to blow it after she made some of the best folds I have ever seen and then made the best (and worst imo) call ever with 5th pair on a board where I had nothing. After that outrageous call she had a 3:1 chip lead and with everyone getting a little cranky that it is after midnight we doubled the blinds and I was feeling it badly. I shoved A8 and walked right into JJ which held. Still, it was a good display of donk bashing really and profitable as always. Bring on next month Smile

Nicely done! Good read too. Hitting that case 6 on the river was impressive. Lucky as hell, but impressive none the less.

Where do you guys find all of these soft games? In the MTT's I play locally, there are about 3-7 donks out of 27-50 players. Maybe I need to cross the pond and play some poker over there.

Indeed, England is an untapped donk goldmine. These are all people I work with who don't seem to mind that once a month I take their money. I love them all dearly Smile
