Bankroll Decision

Posted Tue Apr 18, 2006 8:20 pm GMT by xDiamond_CutteRx
Well, today my bankroll hit the $5000 mark, and I made an executive decision. Since things are somewhat slow-going at the limits I'm playing, I'm going to pull out $2200 and surprise my girlfriend with a trip to Hawaii. Smile

Should I keep playing $5/$10 and $30 tournies and under, or should I drop down a little until I build up again? 280 BB, and about 45 buy-ins should be enough to play at that level, right?

First off congratulations!
That is a big accomplishment and I hope you have fun on your trip to hawaii..

Now back to Poker! Surprised

Maybe, you would want to stick to either MTT's or Cash games specifically for a while? Your BR would be fine for some 3/6 Tables and those stakes seem to be the ones that would suit you the best. I think 5/10's would be doable, but maybe you should try the 3/6's for a bit?
Just my $.02

I say stick with the 5/10s unless you hit like a 50BB downswing right off the bat. Hopefully you'll get some good cards and won't have to look back. If you take a hit to begin with, drop down to 3/6 and build it back up.

Congrats!

I'd say keep playing the $5/10. Thats how you built your roll so why not keep going? You are definitly skilled enough for that level so keep plugging away. If ya hit a downswing, then start thinking about dropping.
