Those Memorable Hands

Posted Thu Apr 20, 2006 8:50 pm GMT by Arkwell
What is the most memorable hand between you and your friends? (If you play home poker with friends, like me).

Here is mine:

Player 1 has Ace Heart / Other insignificant card
Player 2 has Eight Heart / Other insignificant card

Both players bet and they end up heads up (not all in) on the flop.

The flop comes up Ten Heart , Nine Heart , Queen Heart .

One bets, other calls.

The turn is a 7 Club (insignificant) and the river is the Jack Heart .

So Player one has the Ace high Flush and Player two has the low end of the Straight Flush. Only an Ace King for the Royal Flush could beat him, which Player One does not have.

Player One checks, Player Two pushes All In, Player One calls!

But the funny part was that Player One thought that he had won with his Knut flush, and proceeded to mock my other friend (its all in good fun) and started to move all the chips in towards him, until we told him that he had been beaten by the Straight Flush!

His face was hilarious; "What?!?!?"

It made it 10x better because he thought he had just doubled up for a couple of seconds, then he realized!

We do mock him about it to this very day Razz

Recently I was playing 1/2 and had A7 of spades. I raised preflop and 2 called. Flop was T93, 1 spade and was checked around. The turn was a 5 of spades. I bet and the other two guys called. Pot's about $50 right now. The river's the 9 of spades...Bingo! Player one bets $20, I was afraid of the boat but was sure that anyone with 2 pair would bet it harder and I didn't read them for a set. I only called though because I thought the third guy would call as well so it didn't matter if I only made it $40. That guy happens to flip his cards first and shows Q2 of spades for Q high flush. Other guy, happy to see that, flips his cards with a smile on his face...shows K4 of spades. I smirk and flip over my ace high flush.

That was a pretty fun hand.

aww , I dont have the hand history.

This happened today , at a limit game. Low low limit , but still the single most classic funny story ever , and it happened to me.

long story short

Ma AA
him KK
other guy KQs

flop 10 2 7 all of other guys suit

turn other guy makes flush

capp pre flop
capp flop

other guy bets turn we both call

river other guy checks we both check ( other guy was out of pos on us )

good times.

I was playing in a MTT with a few friends (and a few strangers). We were down to the final 2 tables. I'm second in chips and on the button with 4 Heart 4 Club . Blinds 400/800. UTG pushes making it ~2K to go. MP calls and is left with only ~3K. I'm sitting on a monster stack and know that if I hit I can take two players out with this hand. If I don't, it's only a small nick in my stack. I call.
Flop
4 Spade 4 Diamond 8 Spade :D
MP checks, I check.
Turn
A Spade
MP pushes. Someone at the table asks "How much is it?"
I'm so giddy that without thinking I reply "It doesn't matter. I have quads." And flip my hand.
The little lady in MP looked at me as if I'd just shot her puppy, decapitated it and handed it to her on a stake.

Another memorable hand was flopping the J-high straight flush and having the hubby push on the flop and my sis' boyfriend push on the turn.

7-J straight flush vs. friend's 7-J straight. Ended up all in, eventually leading to my first win ever (learned to play with some friends who play a SnG style). Had been playing for a loooooooong time before I finally won haha

lurking here for awhile but felt compelled to answer this post...Two hands come to mind...one I won and one I lost.
First was 3/6 Hold em dealt AA. Flop comes AKx. I fire away expecting a fold and get raised...we cap. Turn K Shocked Slight worry but still capped betting. River A Razz Of course he turns KK and leaves!
Next was a $100 NL table heads up first hand. Dealt AKo Flop AKK. I bet 1/2 my $. Pushed all in and of course call...Yep...Up against AA! Lose all $100 in the first hand Heads up. Its nice to see others go thru alot of the same stuff!!

You must be very wealthy or very angry or not know why you should be angry.

Those are both jackpot hands , hope you were at a casino whom had a badbeat jackpot. Damn , If that coulda happened at my local casino , Would have made 18,000$ for the one you won and near 30,000$ for the one you lost.

Oh yeah. It's part of the game.
My most memorable winning hand online went something like this.
Hero Q Spade J Spade
Flop
A Diamond K Spade T Spade
Turn
X
River
A Spade
All the money was in on the river. My opponent showed A Heart K Club for Aces full and I showed my Royal.
Most memorable loss was having my AA cracked after flopping trips by runner runner clubs for 8 Club 5 Club to take the pot.
For those that will ask, yes, I raised to 4.5xBB preflop and pushed on the flop. He had 2nd pair on the flop (5's) and called. Ah well, that's poker.

My most memorable hand was a hand I played live, it was early and it was just me in the SB and the BB playing this hand. The flop came something like 5-4-7-3-8 with 4 cards of the same suit and the last one coming on the river. I had Jx and that last card gave me the J high flush, the hand had been checked the whole way down. When I hit my flush I put out a small bet on the river and the guy just went all-in immediately. I was like dumbfounded, I didn't know what to do here, so I turned over my hand and looked at him. When I turned over my Jack I saw him take a deep swallow, and I called. He said something like "nice call" and then tossed his hand into the center of the table, I was raking the pot but when he threw his hand away one of the cards flipped over, it was the suited 6.

The guy had the straight flush (the pure nuts) and didn't even realize it, better yet it would have never came to light if the card didn't flip over accidently when he literally threw his hand into the center of the table. His buddy was like "man you got the straight flush!" and he was like "oh... I guess I win then?". Yea that hand was crazy.
