If I can catch the junket, I may be hitting the Trop in May. Anyone nearby going to be around there during that time or anyone heading that way then? It'll probably be May 19-21. If the junket is full, I'll be heading up in June. Not sure of the June dates yet though.
Also, I'll probably be heading to Bonita Springs, FL to visit my sisters the week following. They say there's a dog track and poker room not far from there. Anyone have any info on this or play there frequently?

I was thinking of going to AC in May as well, pending if and what kinds of tournaments are going on.

I still don't have confirmation yet about May. I know that we're definitely going in June if we don't catch the May junket.

I hear ya.
I typically only feel like going in the near future for tournaments. No real desire to drive down for cash games unless Im with a bunch of friends. But AC is only An hour or so away from me so it's not that much trouble to head down whenever really.

I'm pretty sure the biggest game is 1/2 FL (by law). So no one ever folds (I guess). The good news is you get to play "big the game".

That is precisely why I think BeerWench would hate the games, 1/2 ultimate no-fold'em.

I'm not understanding what you're saying here. Truly. No sarcasm.
Are you saying that I'm not flexible because I don't play FL? I'm just not following. Bear with me, I've had less than 3 hours of sleep, so I'm sure I'm more dense today than normal.

Nah i'm just joshing.
But yeah, those games sound pretty mechanical. Play them how you're supposed to and you'll be fine.

I talked to my sister a couple of days ago and she said they usually have a game of at least 6-7 players a few nights a week at their house. They only play NL. She also said it's an extremely soft game so I should be able to make a good profit. I think I'd prefer that to trying to play FLHE. It's been years.
You know, though, after playing PLO8 with a bunch of gamblers with very deep pockets, I think I could probably handle all of the suckouts in FL.

Thanks for the info, guys. If I go to the track, I'll stick to betting on the hounds.

The one I went on was terrible. I can't remember the name it was located near Jacksonville when I was visiting a friend for this past New Years. I want to say it was a 30 minute drive away. It was a small boat. Two levels and one poker table. 1/2 limit was the only game allowed and the dealer was horrific. I'll call my friend and try to get more information. It was a fun experience but one I won't do again.

Well, it looks as if my sister is going to come up to visit me instead of me going to Florida. Thanks for all of the information, everyone.

They live on the gulf so I doubt I would travel to the other side if I do go. Thank you for the information though.

It's finally been confirmed. I'll be in AC the weekend of 5/19-5/21. The hubby won a trip through work to AC as well, so it looks like I'll be up there the first weekend of June as well. May also be going again in the middle of June. It should be a great couple of months. :D
