$200 NL on Party, hero is on the button with about $290.
Player in 2nd position raises to $6 (Villain)... he has about $180 total.
Player in 5th position calls.
I call with 9 7 .
Blinds both fold.
Pot: $19
Flop comes 9 5 2 .
Villain bets $8.
Player 5 folds.
Hero raises to $20.
Villain stews and calls.
Turn is the 7 .
Villain bets $30.
What's my optimal move here?
I'm 99% sure I'm raising here, because what could he realistically have? 22 or 55 are unlikely to be raises from EP. To have any other set he needs the case two 9's or 7's. Unlikely. 68? I sincerely doubt it.
I put him on Tens or Jacks probably, or MAYBE A K .
Suggestions?

Villain probably has AK , / maybe QQ? Doubtful of AA or KK considering his small raise in EP. Tens or Jacks do seem really possible too.

With an OP he basically got 8 outs going to the river so I say we need to get some money in while we are the most likely to have the best hand. If he has AK and folds, so be it...he has allready donated nicely with it.
Personally I'm probably raising around 2/3 of the pot here. Bit sucky to lose him, but I don't want to price him in either.

I agree with Tame Deuces. Also, if he has a hand like tens och jacks an overcard might scare him (it shouldn't, but it might). I don't like a free card here.

I have to agree with Soup and everyone that says end this hand here with a large reraise. No free cards. End this hand here before villian draws out on you.

I agree with the majority. Push it up to make him pay to draw on you. My guess is he's got two suited overs or possibly an overpair (T-Q).

So what happened diamond?

I ended up raising to $80. He waited until the very last second and then called.
The river came K .
He checked again. I did not figure he was going to check-raise, so I decided to value-bet again, but he only had $50 or so left, so I just put him in. He typed in something about getting rivered in the chat box, but he called anyway. He showed TT, and I scooped a nice pot.
