Ok, I have decided to try this "journal" thing. This is a good time to start one because I just recently broke my bankroll.
First, some background. I have been playing online poker for about 3 years, always playing with money I won through freerolls. I would build it into something respectable and then lose it when going on a bad streak. (You know the story.) Early on, I would lose through plain ole donk play.
In the last 6 months though, I feel like I have really brought my game to a new level. Back in Feb I won a $100 in the THP freeroll on Party and have been playing with it for about 2 months. This is by far the longest I have ever been able to parlay a small bankroll before losing it, so I still feel pretty good. More importantly, I feel like I lost it through poor bankroll management, not mistakes with my play. (Playing at low limits makes it all feel so futile.)
When I review my hand histories over the last couple of weeks I am finding that the really big hits are coming from where I get the chips in at the right time and lose in the end. Unfortunately, these hits usually occurred when I am playing at a limit too high for my bankroll.
So for the short term I am going to play in some party poker club freerolls and see if I can place in the money and start the rebuilding. If that doesn't work then I will be forced to make my first ever deposit. LOL
BTW, I love NL Hold'em MTT's and for ring games I play short handed tables.

Well, no luck on the party points tournies. I did very well but always seemed to end on the bubble. That combined with the normal family "interruptions".
As a result I made my first deposit. Since I have $300 in pending bonus on UB I decided to deposit there and multi-table at microlimits for a while. (Despite the fact I can never seem to win there.) Therefore, I deposited $25 and started 4 tabling 5FL full ring tables.
I have built it up to $115 so far and have started to see some serious improvement in my FL game. I'm actually starting to enjoy it now. Hopefully I can keep from getting greedy and trying to move up in limits too soon.

Well, holding steady at about 115. I'll 5 table FL and move up a bit and then try my hand at triple draw and Omaha and loose it back.
I am excited though, I have finally found a live game in my neighborhood and will be playing there again tomorrow night. I have played with these guys twice and even though they are very very experienced I feel like I can still outplay them.
The first night I played with them we played a 6 man SNG with a $50 buy-in. I played tight the whole way and ended up winning the whole thing for $200. I told them it was beginners luck.
The next time we played it was just a cash game for $50. This time the cards kept me from really going nuts but I still ended up walking out with $130.
Now they ae out to get me so hopefully I can do some serious damage.

Well, on the home front, life has taken a big turn. Because the company I was working is planning on outsourcing all of it's IT staff, I have been on the jobhunt. Today I accepted a postition with a very fast growing, energetic company. I don't think I have worked a hard day of work in over two years so this will be a big change for me. Hopefully this will work out well.

Had an interesting "hit and run" session before getting ready for my evening live game. I bought into two $10NL 6 max tables.
On table one my first hand is Q Q in early position. I raised it to $1 but mid position raised to $3. Ooops. Then the button raises "all-in" for $10. Now I'm in a pickle. I go in the tank and think about it for a bit. I am probably behind, but donks at these short hand low limit tables usually loosen up too much. I decide to take a chance on possibly tripling up so I call. Mid position calls too. The board comes K 5 8 . Ugh. The turn is 10 and the river is 8 . I'm amazed when they turn over pocket nines and K J , so my flush wins.
On the other table I went on a rush when pocket kings hold up, Aces hold up, and my set of fives hold up. Even my AK vs AQ nets me a nice pot.
In the course of 30 minutes I went from $10 on each table to $50 and $75 respectively. A great warmup for tonight... hopefully. Time to go mow the lawn! :D
BTW. Now my bankroll is up to $215.

Well it was an interesting night of live poker. Only 4 players showed up and we each bought in for $50. Except for about a ten minute stretch, the starting hands for me were terrible. It was amazing how many times I was dealt 23o or x4. Finally I had to start taking some chances and bluffing more than usual just to keep in the game. To be honest though... I think it's some of the best poker I have played considering the cards. I finally cashed out for $100 and was the "big" winner, relatively speaking.
Online wise, I have been grinding it out.
I cashed out $100 on UB to deposit on Party so I can play some mtt sng's there. (The ones on UB don't seem to be getting much action these days.)
Titan poker sent me an email telling me they have given me $10 free so I will try and build that up.
Let's see where we are.
UB: $170
Party: $85
Titan: $75
Not bad. Still small relative to most of you guys, but at least it is going up. I have managed not to get greedy and "donk" it all off so far.
