This would only work online , but say your playing a really tough table - really tough players.....
hit your 'sit out' button after every UTG hand , and turn it back on when your the button ? lol
Have to pay a SB in the dark , but you'll always be in posistion , never out of it ( or rather enver forced to be out of it ).
thoughts ?

You think too much.

So, we're sacrificing three hands an orbit, for the "benefit" that we don't have to play out of position?
EDIT: Sorry, I misread, it's only two. Still, my question is valid.

You'd have to post a BB and a dead (SB). You'll end up putting the same amount into the pot you would have if you played your blinds and you'll get 3 fewer hands to play.
You're right that you are better off posting from the CO than the BB. But that won't come close to making up for the three missed hands especially since one of them is your button.

oh , by all means this is mostly a joke. But still something interesting to consider.
Again this wouldn't be an end all easy money making solution , but you would never forcefully be out of posistion. @ snoogins , this was applying twords playing truly tough opponents. I'm not saying there are no flaws here , but I think it would be an interesting experiment to try this with a lower stakes NL cash game , and see how it affects you.
Of course this cannot apply to 6 max and would potentiolly benefit a weaker player more then a stronger player.

If you find your opponents are that tough maybe you should just pick another table instead of trying to work a gimmick.

There is a way to sit out so that you miss (I believe) a small blind's worth of payments every orbit. I've seen a couple people do it and both times I've reported them for innappropriate behaviour.

Look at your PT stats. I'm almost sure you make more from the button than you lose from the SB on average, I know I do. So you're still better off playing both than neither.
I think you need to time out in the BB to do this.

No you can do it without timing out. Simple sit outs work, I think. I'm not positive, but that's mainly because I don't do it.
I'm not saying that it's a winning play. I'm saying that it's shady at best. I'll report it every time.

Why would you not want to play your button hand? Besides, you have the option to fold both the SB and BB whether there's a raise or not. I understand your thinking here, but playing 9-handed, there's not too much positional difference between BB and UTG. At least as BB, you have position preflop.

Well, you've stumbled into something that's probably accurate. If you're playing against "really tough opponents" then you could theoretically benefit from this stupidity, because every hand you play costs you money anyway, and this way you're playing less hands.

Which is the long way of saying, if you have to resort to this tactic, you don't belong in that game anyway.

The more words I use, the more important I sound.

Is that a linear increase?

diminishing returns.

Depends if you got writing skills. If you do and are important it will appear linear for a long time, then asymptotically approach a value equal to your true importance. If you got mad writing skills you can crack this barrier and actually sound more important than you are. But most fall into the catagory of writing skills that has their apparant value asymtotically approaching a value lower than their true value. So even if they write an infinite amount of words they'll still appear less important than they really are.

you do miss 3 hands.
you dont get the button after sitting out for the SB & BB, you play on the CO.

that only works once, next time you try it you'll have to pay both if I remember correctly.
been there, done that :) (just a few times though, too much hassle)
