I felt like i was in an episode of COPS

I sit down to play some $1/2 NL at foxwoods. I played for about 15 minutes. All of a sudden some hoodlum comes by our table and grabs some guys chips who left the table. He got about $80 in chips. I didnt notice it and all of a sudden a 75 year old guy stands up and starts yelling and pointing at the kid. I thought he was just senile and was making something up. But surely enough the kid did take the chips and made his way up the stairs. The whole time after that people were writing out reports for security and they were hovering around us the whole time...it was def. a unique experience.

Turns out they didnt catch the kid and the guy who got his $ stolen didnt get any of it back. I must say he is somewhat at fault though. People said he left his chips there for over an hour because he left to play in a touney that was going on at the same time! Thats just not a smart move.

Other than that i handed out my first casino bad beat! I had A Diamond 10 Diamond and raised to $10 in late position and get 2 callers. Flop comes out 8 Diamond J Heart Q Diamond. It gets checked around to me and I make another bet of $15 to show some strength and drive them outta the hand....both call. a rag comes out that isnt a diamond. Both guys go all-in and i throw in the towel and call for my last $45 hoping i get lucky. What comes out? K Heart for my straight! Other 2 guys flip over a QJo and J8o...each having 2 pair (dont ask my why J8o was calling the pre-flop raise). I am in shock while im stacking $210 in chips. I guess casino poker in addition to online poker must be rigged too lol Laughing. Other than that i didnt see many good cards and I left only $5 up for the day.

The real highlight of the day was the action of the crook beating the casino 8)

How is it a bad beat if you were the favorite? I am not following.

True...I was the favorite after the flop, but when I put my $45 in chips after the turn I was 33% to win against 62% and 5% for the two others who had 2 pair... I guess it wasnt too bad, I just felt very fortunate to hit that K on the river tho...

You don't have to be the favorite for it not to be a bad beat. If both guys had you covered when you called your last $45 on the turn, then by my rough calculations, there should be around $165 in the pot before your call, you're getting 3.6:1 on your money with 15 outs to a flush or straight. It was a correct call, so even though you weren't the favorite, it wasn't a bad beat.

Nice hand. :D

Thanks...to be honest I didnt even realize I had the 9 for an extra out for my straight as well. I was just banking on the nut flush to win me the pot at that time...but ill take it anyway i can get it.

That hand was my most exciting hand ive played in the casino as far as hoping for my winning card to come out. I have had 2 similar situations when ive had pocket 6's and the flop come out 2 2 6, but hitting the card you need on the river was quite a rush. The real action was when that kid stole the chips...it was quite a ballsy move.

Yeah thats what I couldnt understand. I looked up and saw about a million cameras there and im thinking 2 hours later they still have NO idea where the kid went or what he looked like? They kept asking for a physical description...im figuring they have those cameras running 24/7 right?
