Finally won my fist home game trney. We played for about 4 hours. No limit no rebuys 10 dollar buy in 8 people total. One player had to leave making the prixe pool 70 bucks.he left when it was down to 3 ppl. Welll he had a good bit of chips but his ride was leaving so.Ended up winning it about 3 hand into the heads up battle.
I doubled him up on the frist hand when it got to head up He had poket 3 and went all in and i had ak.Then I got 10's and took him down.
P.S. not to boast or brag but i did elimanate every player from start to finish

Nice work. They're going to be gunning for you next time. Speaking of knocking people out, in a single table S&G the other night I knocked out 6 of the 10 players. Four even went two at a time and this was a limit game. When it got down to three people left they both thanked me.lol

Why did you guys give him money. and what kinda payout do you do. For us if you have to leave your money stays. lol. And if its above $100 total prize pool we give 3rd some not much. 2nd the buy in. first gets the rest.
Normaly its 2nd gets there buying back and 1st takes the rest.

I have one of those folding octagon tables, so we seat eight players, paying top three. Third gets their buy-in back, Second gets double the buy-in, and first gets 5x the buy-in. We usually buy-in for $20, so it's $100-$40-$20 for eight players. That way, everyone feels they've got a sporting chance of getting at least their buy-in back.

i usually do the same thing when hosting a home tourney of 7-10 people. with such low stakes ($5-$10 buyin, no rebuys) the games are more for fun than for profit anyway.

Every home tourney I've played in has been either winner-take-all or 1st & 2nd payouts only.
I have to agree with racquet. If you have to leave in the middle of a tourney you leave your money at the table. Don't start a game if you're not going to be able to finish. If I'd have been playing I'd have said "Sorry you don't have time to try to win your money back. Drive safely." But then, I'm a stickler for the rules.

Im assuming you gave it back to keep the game "friendly" next time either payout to 3rd place or keep your money odds are youll win it again

Well we usually do second get the buy-in back. And the winner get the rest. But we kind felt bad that he had to go and such.Like i said he did have at least 15 dollars more than the buy in(mabey).I was against him getting his money back. But i don't think that is he had so many chips he would have gotten the whole buy-in back. And some of the money was given to the host.Something about a broken door. Not sure about that one.
O well, the money won will be put to good use tommrow or saturday at our next game :D

Sounds like Moneymaker vs. Dutch in the WSOP.

When we play no money is taken from the pot until the end of the game.
