Non-professionally, yes. I have dealt for a few charity games and been an assistant Tourney Director for a college tournament here at UC Davis.

Little late as I don't come her often anymore. I don't deal POKER but I deal in the pit. Were they questions about poker INDIVIDUALLY? Or about casinos in general.

Regarding taxes on your tokes-
Depending where you wind up working, you'll likely be participating in something called toke compliance, where you agree to a preset dollar per hour "average" of tokes you believe you'll make. Figure somewhere in the ballpark of $10-$15/hour, which will be taxed on your paycheck. This absolutely rapes your paychecks, but face it- you and I both know that your living will not be coming from the minimum wage the casino will be paying you. On average, a 2 week check for me, with approx $50 deducted for health/dental/medical benefits, and $20 once per month to pay for parking privileges, a 2 week check will be anywhere from $100-$150, depending on how many hours worked. I usually work anywhere from 35-55 hours per 2 weeks, not very much indeed. Working as a dealer, casinos have what's called EO's, and usually an EO List. An EO is an "early out", in other words, you leave work early for the day. :D
I, for instance, get an EO just about every single day :D :D :D Which also explains my low amount of hours worked. Reasons for wanting an EO are pretty much irrelevant, you can put yourself on the EO list if you feel like sh.t, want to play a tourney somewhere else, want to play live somewhere else, maybe you want to leave because you hate the floorperson working that night, whatever.. Obviously, say you work at a place with 1 poker table, and 1 poker dealer, theres no way in hell you're going home early. But if you work in a decent room, with multiple game, multiple dealers, multiple break-tables (where you keep "pushing" the next table in line on every 20/30 minutes, until you reach a 'break table', after you finish that 'down' you go on break for 20/30 minutes, the resume pushing where you left off- basically lots of break tables means there are too many dealers working at the current time), and a good floorperson who keeps things running smoothly, and you'll be able to leave whenever you want.
Being a dealer is a great job, most of the time. Dealing big games is exciting to me, it's really the next best thing to playing in the game- even if the game is out of your financial means to play. You can have fun dealing a game, just don't show it lol... Seriously though, dont just BS at the table unless someone else initiates you first in conversation. Certain games you can tell when the atmosphere is party-like, and by joining in your tips usually increase. But say you're dealing some big dollar NL game- at lot of those players are usually extremely serious, and are just looking for you to piss them off in a single way just so they can put blame on the dealer and avoid toking you. A lot of hi dollar players are assholes, yes I said it. However, those are the games where you'll get stiffed your entire down, or make $1 every now and then, but suddenly you push a monster pot to the 'right person' someone who has taken a liking to you, and bam instant $25 tip just because the winner likes you because you do your job well.
Well that's about it in a nutshell. Anything else just ask...

Never the main event, nor any WSOP however I'm likely going to be dealing this years WSOP, work would permit me to take a 7 week absence if needed.
But a funny little story about last year's (2005) WSOP-
During the main event which was going on at Benny's Bullpen (directly upstairs from Binions poker room), I was downstairs dealing the cash games. It was about 4:00 or 4:30 am or so, and I was standing around on break. Suddenly, some strange man comes up to me and says "Sir you must move now"- but this guy had no namebadge, no uniform, just some guy in a suit- so I was thinking "wtf... why should I move... who the hell are you to tell me..." when I suddenly saw 2 guys with shotguns and security uniforms coming down the aisle straight towards me "I think I'll move now"
Then I saw people carrying boxes and boxes of money right behind the security guards. Like the money was almost overflowing over the tops of the boxes. It was all the cash getting ready to be dumped on the table upstairs as they got down to 2 players... We had the live telecast on all the televisions downstairs, and it was just generally something I think I wont ever forget, not for a while at least...
I'll never forget that little dose of fear that went through me after seeing 2 guys with shotguns coming straight towards me :D
