How I got stuck for $1000 |

First off, if this makes no sense its because its 6:39am and I'm tired and hungover.
As with my usual Saturday night, I went out drinking with the buddies and then went to the casino around midnight. I've done this for the last month and have had moderate success being up $200~ in the last 3 weeks.
Not tonight.
First off the game is $1/2 NL. The game is full of wackos who will payoff you off and call pretty much any bet with any two cards.
I start off the night playing my normal a**hole tight style. First hand of note: I'm EP with AT  . Flop comes 789 w/ 2 diamonds. So I'm open ended with the nut flush draw and two over. Long story short, I get my money in on the flop with 2 other guys and lose to 8's and 7's.
A little later.... I straddle for $5 and get dealt KK. AWESOME! Maybe not... UTG raises to $10, a few callers, I make it $75 to go. 1 caller. Flop: 644. I push and of course get called by 54o. Great.
So asshat who played the 54 is starting to be funny guy at the table. He starts pushing blind every hand. I pick up AKs and sure enough he pushes before me. Naturally I call. And of course he rivers a flush with his J4.
I tilt about a hundred off then calm down again. I pick up 33 in MP and call a $10 raise with a few other players. Flop 37A. So I think I'm golden and get all my money in on the flop again against another player. Sure enough, set vs set with his being 7's.
Another hour or so after that I haven't hit many hands and the ones I did hit were 2nd best.
I'm waiting for my cab and just playing out the last few hands. I'm on the BB and get dealt AA. Excellent. Maybe I can make a few bucks back. EP opens for $50! The asshat calls yet again, I push. EP calls, asshat folds. I show my aces, EP shows QQ. And yet again, I get sucked out. Jack high straight on board so his ladies play and I'm down another buy-in.
So thats the quick summary of the ass raping I received tonight. My play was good, the results were the worst I have ever witnessed.
After playing at this casino a few times I know that it is full of idiots and that I just have to sit tight and wait for a monster to stack someone. Well my gameplan worked perfect... except tonight I happened to be the idiot.

Skribbles - what casino do you go to in Calgary? I travel to Fort McMurray 3 or 4 times a year and could probably arrange to overnight in Calgary if there was a decent place to play a little poker.

Usually Cash Casino.
I only make it there on Saturday nights but they usually have 3 tables going until about 2am. Then it slowly starts to dwindle down. By 6-7am there is one full table left going. ($1/2NL)

Man, it pains me to read a thread like this. Luckily, although I don't go to the casino that often, I'm 5 for 5 in winning sessions playing uber-tight at the $1/2 NL tables...each about 10 hour sessions.
Remember, poker is about the LONG TERM investment, we're all going to have our swings....you can't ever forget this. You'll get it all back eventually....

I REALLY feel for you and appreciate you posting this debacle. For what it is worth, you helped me out quite a bit as I've been having a rough couple of months and have really been feeling sorry for myself until I read this. Lots of similar experiences but not nearly as compressed and not for so much money. Ouch. Anyway, I don't feel nearly as bad about some of my sessions.
I really enjoy your posts on the forum.
