what should i have done here?

Posted Sun Apr 30, 2006 2:16 pm GMT by kingetje
I felt like i couldnt check the river, because he mightve checked along in fear of a possible straight, but by betting the river i would be representing the straight.. so it was a bit of a dilemma.. i didnt wanna make too little out of the hand but didnt wanna scare him away either

any thoughts?

You might want to try a check raise on the turn. It seems like he was betting on the come.

1/2 pot bet probably would have kept him in here till the river. Honestly this is one of those times when the over bet might work. Make it look like a steal attempt. If he calls...great...if not nothing ventured nothing gained.

Ditto. Check-raise a modest amount (maybe 2.5-3x his bet) and hope he makes his hand on the river.
