I've been chip leader of the tourney for a long time, with a decent lead (next highest stack on another table was ~2000 less then mine).
I'd been playing fairly aggressive, betting at almost all flops, so I guess he didn't respect my bets too much

My thoughts of not trying to put him all in on the river were that I thought he might call with alot more weak hands for a little less chips (phsychological maybe, not wanting to be eliminated?).
How'd I play it?

That was a great value bet on the river.
I'm not sure what that person was thinking in this pot though. They called all the way with A-high? I'm guessing you had shown down with lesser hands previously? Or, maybe they thought you were just bullying? Horrible play on his part.

Thanks for the quick reply :D
Would you mind telling me why it was a good value bet? lol. Was it for the reason I posted, because it was the same size as my turn bet, bit of both, or something totally different lol?
I had shown down some fairly poor hands, but more then anything, he probably called me all the way down because it was play money

Yes. You figured you could get another 400 out of him, but probably not much more than that. Had you bet 800 they'd have probably folded (well, I didn't notice it was play money, so perhaps not) and you'd have gained only what was already in the pot. The small bet on the river allowed you to get just a little more out of the hand.

Had this been a real money hand, I really don't think you would have gotten a call on the turn. You would have gotten him to call the flop raise because just folding after a min-raise makes a person look really weak, but he would likely toss his hand after that.
Let's just say this was a real money hand and Villain held 88 or 77. The $400 bet on the river is something he could easily call because of the pot odds and his Queens Up might just be good. If you bet more than that on the river, the pot odds get worse (obviously) and Villain is more likely to fold.
Sorry, just sort of rambling there!
