Does anyone have it on video? I'm having an argument with someone about what point McBride mucked his cards or if he ever did. I know it seems pointless since he lost anyway, but if someone could watch the very end for me and report back as to what happened, it would be greatly appreciated.

In 1998 Scotty Nguyen played one of his best hands. He held:

JDiamond 9Club

His opponent, Kevin McBride, had:

QHeart THeart

McBride’s first action was to raise $50,000. Scotty called. The flop came:

8Club 9Diamond 9Heart

Two times Nguyen check-called: at the flop and at the turn. When he checked at the flop McBride bet $100,000. Nguyen called. On the turn Nguyen made a full house:

8Club 9Diamond 9Heart 8Heart

He checked again. And again McBride bet $100,000. Only one card could help him at this moment to make a straight flush. But it didn’t come. Instead of that the river was:

8Club 9Diamond 9Heart 8Heart 8Spade

Now it was a full house on a board and Nguyen had a better full house. Scotty bet $310,000. It meant that to call this bet McBride had to go all-in. Then Scotty said:

“You call this one and it’s all over baby”
McBride answered:
“I call. I play the board”

He hoped for a split pot. But Scotty took it all: $1,000,000 and the title.

Doesn't really answer your questoin as to when he mucked, but I still thought it was cool Shocked

I just watched the last hand and McBride mucked his hand. In the interview right after that he said he had Qh10h.

Did McBride muck his hand before or after seeing Nguyen's hand?
