Simply Classic

Playing 8/16 last night at the casino, I hit 3 boats (kk 10s 3s) in 1st 45 minutes and am up $400-500 or so. For the next 4 hours, I am staying pretty even. Then 2 young hot shots sit down. They play a lot, they do well, they are regulars that everyone knows (also one claims to be the room mate of the PP million winner). They are calling everyone elses hand and such, you know the type.

I have played w/ these guys before. They are very aggressive preflop and almost always come in raising. They are both directly on my right, so I am in perfect position to push them around, since they dont chase unless they hit.

So, given this, I get 62 and raise their limps, another 3 bets, all call. Flop KQ6, I bet, I am raised, all call, I call. Turn 6, I check raise-big pot. 3 better shows AA.

Later, one opens w/ a raise w/ no limpers. I look at a black Q and see that I am suited, but I dont even know what my other card was-I immediately 3 bet-one calls, he calls. Flop K Heart Q Club 4 Heart , I bet, both call. Turn 3 Heart checked to me, I check, other checks. River 3, I bet, both fold, I show-go figure, Q3 spades. So I get the "I hope you do that all night" speech. Now I know I have them! HA HA HAAA.

For here, I go on to act like a donk. I raise w/ 2nd pair and needing runner runner and claim I was favorite and such.

Then I here these guys talking about how all their friends that play really big games and make a ton on money love 64. The dealer points out that 64 is hitting all the time right now. So, on the button w/ 4 limpers I look down at 64 off, so naturally, I raise. Both blinds and all call, 7 way action.

Flop K Heart Q Club 5 Heart an aggressive Asian guy who plays a ton of pots comes out from the blind, all call. I am hoping for an A K or J and make a bluff.

Turn 3 Club -now, I like my straight draw, but w/ double flush and 7 callers, I dont think I have more than 4 outs. Blind bets ALL STILL CALL???? small blind check raises, and ALL STILL CALL?????

River, you guessed it 7 Diamond , I sucked out runner runner nuts w/ 64. So, SB bets, BB raises???? all fold, I 3 bet, both call. As soon as I 3 bet, I hear the table chatter (KQ QQ KK did he really stay w/ 77????? why wouldnt he raise the turn w/ flush draws out there????). The silence was deafening when I showed my cards. It was almost a Tartentino moment where you could hear the cards hit the felt. The silence was only broken by 2 full racks of $2 chips being pushed to the 9 seat.

My only comment "64 huh? you might have something there".

God do I love poker.

I forgot this classic moment from last night that got a good laugh-the table was short handed 5-6 for a little bit. I get A4 and raise to steal blinds and get called by a very tight player in the small blind, another "hot shot" young kid.

Flop K 10 9, he checks, I check

Turn J, he checks, I bet

He says "Here is a PRO laydown" and shows AK TPTK

I say "I made an amatuer bet" and show my A high

I love "hot shots". They pay so well.

I wasn't talking about you, snookums. You're not a "hot shot", you're a "pro". Wink

He probably was. The guy who won it is Mike Schnieder (I'm probably spelling the last name wrong) who is a very good limit player and lives in MN.
